Bosch '044 , which install style ?
Bosch '044 , which install style ?
Hi all ! firstly I'd like to apologize for the condition of my Fd , but it's in the shop getting a repaint done (finally!) , now on to the dilema !
Presently I have my '044 mounted externally , pulling from a sumped OEM tank ,with no problems at all .Lately I've been thinking of putting them in the tank , to get a cleaner , sleeper look ........... but now I am not so sure if I should bother.
I've been doing some reading , and I've found that the FD suffers from fuel starvation at low fuel levels when cornering , or something like that , is this true? and the fix for this is an expensive cover sold by another member , along with a custom home made pump mount or a prefabbed one from CJ Motorsports (expensive) . These pics show my trouble free set up , I can run the tank extremly low, low enough to be outa gas !!! what do you guys think , should I change it and just paint it all black to make it invisible ?

One potential issue I see with your setup is ground clearance. I have an FB that is very low. I do track days with the car, and sometimes I go off the track
. When that happens, the lowest point can get whacked.
But . . . your stuff is tucked up fairly well, and you may keep your car on the road, unlike me.

NO NO No ...wait ! do I start **** threads ? ................ Generaly , I get very few replys to my threads , whyyyyy..........!!!!
What are you referring to ? the pumps are higher than the diff , and the sump is higher the the exhaust barrel.
