Blown Turbo?
I was driving to work this morning and was giving the car some gas accelerating, I was at about 10PSI then I heard a phoom sound then a whistling noise and could hear the turbo a bit louder than normal and it sounded different. I figured my intercooler piping had seperated somewhere since it has happened a few times before when I had it loose and its been about 5 months since that happened, I tightened them up really good. The car would boost abotu 1-2 psi and will hit 5 psi if i floor it but it has to work really hard for it. The turbo is making a weird whistling sound now at certain loads. I checked my intercooler piping for a minute and didnt say any thing seperated or loose. My turbo has 200,000 miles on it unrebuilt but does this sound like the turbo could be blown if its making boost? Time for a bigger one if it is.

Possibly blow, although check the turbo manifold for any damage or seperation, i guess this is a single turbo??? if so take off the induction kit and have a look up the blades to see if thay are intact.
200,000 miles on the turbo's quite good so rebuild it anyway.
