Biggest Turbo

What is the biggest turbo on a street car out there? I just want to know what you guys are using for street use that is considered big. Intake wheel size, exhaust housing size, and exhaust wheel size?

Diesel trucks use pretty big turbos and they're always on the street. You ever see one of those things?! It could inhale pets and small children!

The "Recomended" largest street turbos would be the large GT35/40, T78, or the TS04 i believe.

but there is always some crazy ******* that says you can go bigger

yup, ask T88Kid. He will tell you the T88 is the ONLY turbo for the RX-7. hahah...

DISCLAIMER: I don't know if he will really say that, or if he is really a "crazy *******".

takes a little custom fabricatio, but with good tuning you can reach boost by about 25,000k rpm

Not that I don't care for mustangs and other cars, butisn't this a Rx7 site?

Just wondering what the biggest turbos you people are really running on your RX7's(FD3S) in real life. Not what other people say and what you heard.

The GT 35/40 is not a big turbo, it has a T3 compressor! Hello!
"Big" turbo's should be a step up frame wise from a T4 series right? Like a Turbonetics T70 or a Garret GT42 etc

Well, The 35/40 may not be big physically, but it produces #s of big turbos..

A777 is making ~580fwhp @ 20 Psi.. So i would consider that a big turbo. not the biggest.. but definatly streetable..

Anyone putting down to the ground over 700hp on a single 2 rotor? That is what I am talking about. Anyone can put down 500-600.

700RWHP huh?

Good luck is all i have to say.. I know of people who have been doing this a very long time and they get close to 700 on their drag only cars, And they are usually bridge ported or P-port with a huge turbo running close to 30Psi.

BTW if you really want a streetable 700RWHP, i suggest you look into a 20B swap. And save up around 20-100K because all the supporting hardware is going to kill you in an FD. 20K if you get good deals and do everything yourself, and 100K if you don't.

I think the most impostant thing to consider with this question is how long will it work like that? How much life you want out of the engine..?
