Big Build-Up. PICS!!

Hey there everyone. I am in the process of putting my car back together. I just received the motor back from Kevin at RR. He put in some new seals (it was a reman and only had 2k miles on it) and gave it a nice big port. I will be running a TO4R 1.0 A/R hotside divided. Here are some pics to get started, I will be documenting everything as I go for those of you who like to check it out and those who need help. Everyone on the forum has been nothing but helpful to me, and I wish to return the favor any way I can. Wish me luck guys. Here goes...

Hmm...I think I'll keep it for mine. Anyway, I am in desperate need of a PCV and Purge control solenoid. I sold the rats nest and never took those out. If anyone has any for sale, I will glady take them off your hands. Pm me if you do. Thanks

They were powdercoated. It shines up really nice, is easy to clean, and I hate polished stuff. I would rather have a sinter looking motor.

I wasn't doing it all black to be original, I just don't like powdercoating. And seeing 3 years ago I was 17 and didn't own the car, you have me beat there. But mine is nicer still!!! Muwahahaha

Upper and Lower Intake Manifolds. I think the black powdercoat looks good. Enough of that polished stuff.

Powder-Coated rotor housings?????? :o Be careful! Hopefully the coating procedure didn't warp those housings! We destroyed two pairs of good housings because of powder coating. Sure, it looked good, but it developed horrid water burning problems in the first few days. Hopefully, you won't have an issue with it.

Good luck. Project sounds good!

Eh, I guess we'll see what happens, I don't think it will be a problem though.

I hope not. But, if it does start burning water and exhibiting all of the classic signs of an overheated engine, then the cause is from the powdercoating that was done. The baking process on powder coating cooks the housings to 450F degrees for a sustained amount of time. Please let us know what happens once it's running and don't blame Kevin for buil ding a "shoddy" motor or anyt hing if it does burn water.. More than likely it'll be from the rotor housings.

Good luck with it by the way. The pics look great!

BDC,
Being that you worried me so much about the powder, I double checked to see what exactly was used. It was just plain old engine enamel from a rattle can! That really gets my nerves to settle back down though for sure. I was under the assumption it was powder, but I was wrong, I stand corrected. Good thing though, the build is coming along nicely, the motor will be going in on monday and the v-mount will be fabricated next week as well. I'll make sure to post some pics of that also. Thanks for the concern however, take care.
