Best Ignition Upgrade?
I already searched, didnt really find anything. Im going to be running 20 psi on race fuel, I dont think the stock ignition is going to cut it. I just started looking into this, so I have no idea what to get. Running a Microtech LT-8s. What would be the best ignition upgrade to get and why? Should I get new coils too and what kind?
Also, what is the difference between the AEM CDI and the HKS Twin Power? How do they work?

Autronic R500 cdi. Because a sr20 with stock coils making 865whp told me it was the best. Just go to www.autronic.com and compare the features to any of the other brands you talked about and you will find that none compare. But be careful not to get shocked by it because you probably wont live through it...

Here is my friends FIRST-HAND experience:
AEM: not as good as HKS twinpower. Burnt 2 units. Expensive!!
HKS: worked great. Too expensive!!
MSD 6A: worked just as well as HKS. Cheap cost!!
Jacobs FC1000: A little better than MSD. Just as cheap. MUCH more rugged design and build. Looks good
Autronic: NO experience with

My experience:
One of the first to buy the AEM C2DI, couldn't get it to work properly. would get hot and shut off, tried a bunch of mounting places, heard they fixed the problems, but I had switched to something else already.
Was going to go HKS off nearly everyone's suggestions but it seemed so expensive.
Ended up with an MSD 6a, super cheap, easy install, seems to work well, noticed a better throttle and better gas mileage (i'm sure the others do too but never ran them long enough).
Hope that helps a little.

Many of you are misunderstaning what digital really means. Also there is a hazy area inbetween, Digital in it's simplest form is a sqaure wave pattern of a max and mini value. In cars that is normally thought as 12+VDC and ground. Even a dirtributor does this when applying current to a coil. From a dictionary:Circuitry in which data-carrying signals are restricted to either of two voltage levels, corresponding to logic 1 or 0.
Our ECU to ignitor is digital. The output to the coils from the ignitor is digital, but the coils are inductive which are more of an analog device. Thus our coils work better at low revs than high. But they still or either off or on. If we fire the coil with something that always fires the same then you can call it digital, It is either off or on. Capactive discharge does this.
There are ignitiors made that are not CD and are nothing but a better ignitor than the stock ones. If an unit fires CD, then it is digital.
MSD makes both types. the MSD 6A is digital.
This is a very simple explanation. Remember you can not believe all advertisement.

Hands down 2nd gen coils with jacob boxes, nothing is better than this and i had 800 worth of msd **** in my car! The reason a lot of you arent having problems is because these setup will break up horrible with some higher boost. My old on broke up around 20 psi and showed signs a bit lower, even if you have 11 or 10s in.
