Best exhaust silencer?

My exhaust now exits in front of my passenger door. It's too loud for street driving so I need a 3.5 inch silencer. Anyone know what the best exhaust silencer is?

I'm looking for just a insert. Something I can remove when on the dyno or at the track.

Yeah, I might try to fab one, maybe an insert that brings the opening down to an inch. Not sure if it will even run with an opening that small.

yea then you do a WOT pull and it fires that silencer out at mach 2 right into the side of another car.

you could always weld in 2 vband clamps in between your DP end and the pipe that sticks out the passanger side door. Then you could just quickly go from a 3.5 round magnaflow for the street, right back to a straight pipe for the track. Alot of my Dad's friends used t do that back in the day for quick removal of the muffler for track used. Problem is you have to have 2 vbands and 6 flanges. It cost a little more that most but its really effective.

apexi makes an electronically (or manually if you prefer) exhaust flapper, you could put it on the end of your pipe and control your note/ db level from inside the car.

running manual they have a thing that resembles a choke line that runs into the cab.

I ran a y-pipe(exhaust cutout is what the old timers and e-bay goes by)on my 626. Then I just piped my regular exhaust out and when at the track take off the cap that was on the fender exit pipe. So around town I ran full exhaust. Get to the track and unbolt the 3 10mm screws and instant noise and spoolup. gotta love that. good luck and post some pics when done.
