9180 is the ticket. Unfortunately, not easy to come by at this point.

For those with the EFR series turbos - is the spool time/ response worth the extra cost? I'm in the same boat as the OP. Looking for 300-400 WHP. Car is a street car with track days in mind. I'm willing to sacrifice top end #s for a responsive car. Even then they dont seem to slouch at the top end either.

absolutely, 100% yes. the EFR turbos are really THAT good (especially for a street/track day build), nothing else comes close in my experience.. The reduced inertia from the Gamma-Ti turbine wheel is a massive difference compared to traditional turbos with inconel wheel.. EFR7670 1.05 would probably be my recommendation for your 300-400whp target

We have 7 EFR builds in progress, ranging from 7670 IWG, all the way to 9180 units. I intend to share all the feedback with the club.

Looking forward to the results! Mostly interested in the 8374 and 9180 results. If I do another FD in the future, it'll come down to those 2. 7670 is kinda pointless, knowing how quick 8374 spool. From what I read, 8374 spools faster than old T04S. But not a lot of rotary results yet…
