Best bang for your buck?
Hey guys, right now I'm running a BNR stage 3 on a lightly ported motor, but as with most people I'm having some small issues like: The turbo isn't going past 14 psi, but will creep to 15 psi at the end of 4th gear. Not enough power, etc...
My question is: What would the best turbo be for me if I want 400+ rwhp? Right now I'm stuck at around 325...(Dynoed 298 @ 11 psi and I'm just assuming 325 at 14psi)
Also for my goal what secondary injectors would you recommend? Right now I'm using greddy 720cc primary, and I forgot the brand but they're 1000cc secondarys with a cosmo fuel pump. Would I need about 1200cc?
To add, would I have to change out my fuel rail to accomodate the larger secondarys?
The turbos I've looked at were the 60-1 and the T70 so far, but it looks like the T70 would be a cheaper option for similar if not larger gains in power (Granted I get the large enough exhaust wheel)

it really is a matter of personnel opinion but me a 60-1 or a 62-1 would be the ticket, I would go with either a cosmo fuel pump or one of the sard units the. there have been as amnay horror stories as happy ending's with the walbro pumps, especially now that they are cloning them in china....

Your BNR Stage 3 has a 60-1 compressor wheel and a to4b housing. Sounds like you are getting pretty good hp from it, but I've heard it's good for up to 360whp. Maybe you should have gotten the P-trim wheel that was an option?
If your turbo isn't going past 14 psi but will creep past it, you may have an issue with the waste gate flapper not getting enough tension from the actuator and blowing open early under boost. My stage 4 had a similar problem. Luckily it came with an adjustable tensioner on the actuator arm, I adjusted it and was able to raise my max boost from 7-13psi. Just to be clear, I had my e-boost controller pegged and it wouldn't go past 7 psi when I first got it, after adjusting the tensioner I can hit 13psi with the **** turned up 3/4 of the way. Good luck on your power quest.

Thats really strange .. I made 350whp on stock twins at 14psi. I would expect the bnrs to get you a bit further in power. As for a single setup. I ran a 60-1 and that little turbo kicked hard and made 400whp.
T70 is a nice option as well. Im actually looking into that setup right now for my new project. Only thing is the spool time is a little less desireable then the 60-1.

I think you're going to have to go single for your goal.
Maybe go for the GT35r kit from A-Spec?
My goal was 400rwhp too till A-Spec sent me the wrong turbo; I had ordered a GT35r and got a 500R instead.. So now my goal is 450rwhp w/ the 500R.
With the 35R I was going to use stock primaries and 1300 secondaries and I think I am going to have the same set up for the 500R but with Water Injection too. I'll have to see how it goes during the tuning session.
Also, I'm going with the Supra Pump.
Just what I'm doing... Talk to Sean from A-Spec.
