Its the little things in life.

Hi guys!
I've recently figured out how to do some basic CAD, and I have access to a 3D printer and was wondering if there were any little accessories that you guys wanted. I could print some things and send them out to you. Probably going to be 15-30 bucks to cover materials and time.
Send me a message or post a reply!
Thanks,
Nick

I've got plenty of free time and I'm itching to CAD and print some things, let me know! Honestly, just want ideas to CAD stuff, and enough of you guys want it, we'll work out something to cover materials and shipping.

Figure out how to print the radio and clock bezels...those would be some popular items.

A cool little project would be a small rotor keychain, even cooler would be a small housing for it to fit in. Those would be some good starting projects. I have over 3 years of 3D CAD experience, let me know if you need help

Thanks for the suggestion. Only problem is, I don't have an actual bezel to go off of. Does anyone have the specs?

I'm very new to CAD, I wanted to pick it up while I'm a senior before I start college for ME. Thank you for offering to help, it means a lot

You should get a 3D scanner to make parts replication easier or do you already have one?

I think there are only 2 ways you can get a CAD file of the 2G idiot light console;
3D scan it or digitize it by hand. Even if Mazda used CAD to make this, I'm damn
sure they won't share the CAD file with just anyone, for free.

Fuel resistant plastics can get a little pricey. I've been thinking about cutting Acetal (Delrin) for stub stacks on a Weber, but McMaster says max working temp is 180F. Does the intake manifold or carb get that hot?

Thats a little close for comfort, I would want something thats rated 2x whatever the intake
manifold temp can get to. Given it normally has coolant flowing through it, we can safely assume
the minimum is whatever the max coolant temp is. Add to that some heating from the exhaust
below and it can easily get near 200F I bet. This is just a back of the envelope WAG. So I would
want a plastic thats good to about 400F to be safe.

Whats Delrin rated at?

the OEM's use nylon 6. it turns out almost everything else is either not happy with gasoline, or has a borderline temp capacity.

I'd use maple if I wanted to make a Nikki spacer. Just saying.

Most sites I've looked at rate it 180F continuous working and 220F for short times.

I make the wiper bushings, headlight bushings and door pull cups and I've made the door lock inserts and I still have not found a material that is storing enough when printed that thin.
