ON Basic TII questions.....

1) what is the stock turbo pressure - S4

2) what can be done to boost hp with the stock turbo set up (if anything)

3) will the factory ECU need to be replaced if making any changes.

I am new to turbos and have purchased one to go in my FB.

Thanks,

Steve

Ok....I wasn't searching this forum under the correct heading........I found a lot of the answers on a 2005 post titled "Boost limit"

Thanks,

Steve

ps - I should elaborate that I purchased a complete 1986 TII engine.

Ok, I read the post......I have more questions.

"Without at least a FCD, you can't boost past 8-9 psi. For 10-12 psi, I would add at least an upgraded fuel pump, maybe a fuel controller and larger secondaries."

What's an FCD ???

How much fuel pressure do I need???

"Stock turbo and TMIC is good for 14 psi MAX provided you have enough fuel."

What's a TMIC ???

What kind of fuel pressure is enough for 14psi???

Thanks,

Steve

FCD = fuel cut defender

TMIC = Top Mount Intercooler

Raise fuel pressure to accommodate the need for more fuel doesn't seem like the best way to go about adding more fuel, but it might work, stock pressure for a 87 TII is 28.4 psi...

Have you looked into an RTEK chip upgrade? The v1.7/8 chips allow for larger injectors and if coupled with a AFC should be able to handle whatever the stock turbo can push(within the turbo's effiency range).

My fuel pump for the 12a in the car is a 6.5

So would bigger injectors be the way to go ???
