Question AVCR settings

what settings do you guys use on the AVCR boost controller with an external wastegate?

it says to set the duty cycle to 70% and then set the wastegate to the max boost pressure you are after. my wastegate doesn't have the disc inside to set spring tension.

do you have to set gear judge or does it automatically do it for you?

any other tips?

Cheers
Bernhard

Have you seen this page?
http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobi..._r_install.htm

Of course the install instructions are for stock turbos, but the manual shows how to hook up an external wastegate. As the setup says, the gear judge nos. work for all FDs (btw if you don't have an FD, drive the car & get the nos. in each gear).

I'm using the AVCR to control an HKS standard wastegate at 1 bar with a T04E & my duty cycles by rpm is in the 45-55% region.

Thanks!
I own an FC, but the site gives a great example.

btw if you don't have an FD, drive the car & get the nos. in each gear).
do u need to redline it in each gear and AVCR works out the n/s??? how do you get the n/s?

No, as soon as you put it in gear & start driving you'll see the no. on the screen (don't remember specific page name, but the manual tells you how/where). The figure doesn't change with speed, but it fluctuates just a tiny bit. Just note the no. for each gear.

I'd say you can just go ahead & use the bleeder valve if you feel more comfortable that way, or you could just do the AVCR, just start out with low duty cycles & adjust slowly upwards to your desired boost.
