ar vs flange size

so after reading a lot on these forms it seems like a lot of people are talking about a t4 flange. after reading about ar rating, I don't see how flange type matters. I know the larger ar is probably too big for a t3, and all aftermarket single turbo manifolds are t4

I remember reading a post on people questioning the new v band twin entry turbo flanges because of size. after the research, I don't see how ar on a t3 flange, t4. or v band would be different.

anyone agree or have a reason a t4 ar rating is different than a t3, or v band?
