Well since the new kit does retain the airpump, I suppose it would have the best chance out of any other single turbo kit. Mine will burn your eyes pretty badly, but with a catalytic converter and the airpump it would be pretty much like stock I would think.

Neo,
the new apexi kit suppose to retain the air-pump...if it does you should be able to pass
The 2 main things that need to be working correctly to pass:
1. air pump
2. stock main cat

I know a guy who just had the new kit installed, and with a high flow cat and racing beat exhaust put down 364rwhp @15psi.

just get the airpump out of a corvette... Its electric and should get you by on the emissions with a highflow cat!

kenny, just throw in some 18-19" wheels and put some LOW profile tires and they won't put you on the dyno. couple of the supra guys done it and got away with it.

I think some counties might have emissions, but i've never had to worry about it. I heard that they are trying to get strict on emmision and are going to start checking, but who knows when that will be.

Yep, when I lived in Charlotte I had to pass the yearly (or was it biyearly?) smog test. My FC passed with flying colors. Glad I moved though, don't think I could say the same thing for the FD.
Can anyone give more information on this turbo kit? Size, spec, max horsepower? I hear that the new an improved Apex'i kit, should kick major buttucks!!

The only thing different on the new kit is the design to retain the air pump. Same hp output as the original kit. It seems like I heard some talk about a bigger apexi kit but have yet to see any info on it.

Don't need a BIG turbo. I don't really know I want a single or not. Single = less trouble; Twin = less lag.

Single is less trouble, but they are just a lot more fun to drive and make more power. If you ever upgrade you won't regret it.

The biggest hang up I have is the emission. If this kit can really pass emission test. I would really think about it.

All of the HKS kits will allow you to pass emissions. They are more pricey though. You could go with their T04E, or T04R kit.

Fancy!

RP installed my RX6 this week along with a MP. I'm hoping that 364 rwhp figure rings true with my car also.

I'm on to the new paint job next week and then I'll have it back to break it in, and then back to RP or maybe a local for some runs. Should be fun.

Won't pass a sniffer with the MP though...I'm just hoping I can find one of the places in town that doesn't sniff.

Yep. Not until next March from what I understand. But I don't think it'll be standardized even then.

I'm thinking long term here bud.

LOL.

'Cause there's no sniff test?!

Tell me there's another reason!

Actually, it's the best place I've ever lived, bar none. It'd be nice for you not to have to worry about your FD in snow also.

-E

p.s. If you're serious about moving here, PM me and I can let you know more about the place if wanna know anything (well almost anything).
