apexi ax7582 turbo

I was looking into the Apex-i AX7582 turbo kit and noticed it is nearly impossible to find out any info on it. From what i understand it is dual ball bearing but i am not 100% certain. Ive searched everywhere on the internet andhave even called Apex-i themselves, neither of which helped any. If any one is running this set up could you post some information on the turbo and kit(what wastegate, quality, ect.). It would be great if anyone has numbers to go along as well.

Thanks in advance for any help.

There was a recent thread on this.
No, the turbo is not ball-bearing center.

Ted where did you hear that the ax7582 is not ball bearing? I just got off of the phone with Apex-i and they told me that all there turbos are IHI and all ball bearing. I tried to get the specs on the turbo but all I was told is that the ax7582 is good until 600 hp and that the ax7592 is good up 700 hp. As for the turbo being abraided he didn't know and he couldn't direct me to anyone that would know. I was told that if the turbo broke it could not be fixed, it would have to be replaced. Apex-i also gave me the heads up that it is a very expensive kit and that the turbo alone is over $2500 to replace. The reason he stated it was so much is that the place they got to design it is top of the line and that it is IHI. This turbo kit is the hardest thing to find information on that i've ever encountered. From the responses this thread is getting and the information given from Apex-i I guess if I want to do this kit I will have to go into it with my fingers crossed. I have also called a few stores that deal with Apex-i but they only knew about the RX6 kit and had no info on either the ax7582 or the ax7592. I have also heard the turbo refered to as an ax middle series turbo, what this means I have no idea (maybe that it is a middle sized turbo?). My car is being built as I type so I am running out of time if I wanna get this kit on there, I really wish somebody had some additional information.

Search... as Reted said, there is another recent thread regarding this turbo with some information. Apexi-USA may not know much about this turbo at all, as the AX is NOT ball-bearing. Try contacting Apexi in Japan... Good luck

Also search for a recent T04Z thread... There is a good link that compares the T04R and the T04Z, but also includes the AX series turbos.

Well if i have to go as far as contacting Apex-i in Japan I am willing to so this. Does anybody know the phone # and if so do they speak english because if not im out of luck. I have done every search possible but have found very little. Yes I have seen the previous thread but the information is very limited. So if anyone has the telephone number to Apex-i in Japan can you please post it in this thread. I need to find out whether to go with the 82 or 92 version asap. I still cannot believe nobody has this on the car, why is this turbo such a mystery?

What the hell do you want?
Compressor maps?
All the other normal stats are posted in the other thread.

Go for it, try and contact A'PEXi Japan.
They are going to tell you to talk to A'PEXi USA.

You don't believe me or something?
It's NOT ball-bearing.

After you have seen the other thread, please be specific about what "other/more" information you are looking for. What the other thread has about this turbo is actually a lot of info already.

Some of the other information we would like to see is: what type of wastegate is included in the kit, does it have a divided flange, what size downpipe, whether it is water cooled or not, ect. Does anybody know anyone know anyone running this set up. I am just looking for the fastest rbo to lay down 450 to the wheels on a race ported motor at 17 psi from RX7 store with unorthadox pullies, removed power steering, greddy 2 row front mount, power fc, extreme fuel system, ect. Would it be possible to acomplish this with the ax7582?

Damn man, you're only looking for 450rwhp... Well if they were comparing a T04Z to it, I'm sure that it is in somewhat the same ball park. Therefore it should be easily capable of producing your 450 rwhp goal. BTW did you consider going innovative turbo systems? With a GT72 dual BB ceramic turbo at 17 psi you should be easily over 450 rwhp and it's fairly responsive for it's size. Also all of their turbos are custom made for the customer so you simply call 805-526-5400 and they'll work with you to make your own set up. They're about the same price as getting a AX75** and they have awesome response. Now if you want to go a little cheaper, you could always just go with a GT4088 standard ball bearing with your choice of either a .94 or 1.34 tan a/r for just under $1k shipped.

Best of luck,
Alex

it would seem that the ax series in the smaller sizes are ball bearing but not the 82/92 sizes. The gt40r is ball bearing and falls between the two. The 92 would be closer to a T51kai I suppose.
