Anyone make DIY abradeable seal compressor housing?

So you know one of the newer turbo tweaks in production cars is to coat the inside of turbo compressor housing w/ a higher heat plasitc so it touches the compressor turbine and then spin it up to 100,000rpm and let the turbine "machine" the plastic to a perfect fit.

I have heard of ~10% increase in efficiency from this technique.

So wouldn't it be easy to plastic spray your own housing, disconnect the turbo intake and turn the compressor by hand untill it turns smooth enough to fire up the engine and spin it up to ~100,000 rpm open air vented?

Anyone brave enough to try it? I might bolt on my stock turbo just to try it out...

Ian

I been wondering and wanting to do this for some time now also. Problem is finding a material that will handle the heat and not un-bond its self from the turbine housing.

Yeah... it would have to be a material that woulden't harm the enigne so as the turbo wears the small amount of material woulden't harm the engine as it passed thourgh it.
