anyone ever have a Crack where Discharge Flange meets turbine housing ? I believe that part is welded when the Co. puts the turbo together. The discharge flange is the flange that comes off the turbine housing and connects to the downpipe via V-band Clamp.
Anyway, mine is cracking almost all the way around. I was told that it should be welded with a Nickel Rod.
Any insight on this is appreciated.

cast iron
Yep that or a tig welder, a tig welder can do it without warping your houseing, and is probably much safer, but if you can't get one a really experienced welder can do it with a high nickel content rod (for cast iron or cast steel) have them lightly preheat the entire houseing to avoid cracking, and warpage (its cast iron) and then have them cool it slowly over a period of time.

i have this same crack on mine. It ios not a leak but will be if not attended to. As stated above. have a experienced welder do the work. As cast iron is a unique beast much like AL has it's trates.
I do not know of a welder out here in Hawaii that I trust to heat and repair that critical area. I am going to end up sending the housing to turbonetics or some such builder and have them do it. As they do a # of them they will " hopefully" have the process figured out.
