Answers for TD07-18A

Well i've just recently tried to dyno tune my 13B-RE extended street port, with the mitsubishi TD07-18A, mostly just to see what this turbo could do, I bought it nearly new on ebay a couple years ago with hks log and hks wg. With the hks wg and 7 psi spring the turbo makes 15 psi with my profec spec b 2 controlling the boost. The worst thing I have to say about this turbo is that it runs out of breath at 6k and boost drops to < 4 psi, which in a rotary is just not acceptable.

Thought I'd share this for anyone who see's any of these turbo's cheap and thinks they want to give them a try DON'T! Stay away from the 18A the compressor inducer is tiny and the turbo is not efficient past 6k on a rotary. The 25A/G are much better and can make 20 psi til redline.

My TO4s does about 400hp at 14psi with similar setup. Is your hks divided? Find a TO4s, GT 3540, or .....

The 18A wheel ist realy to small for Rotary. Greddy sold the TD-06-19C (which is way larger as the 18A comp) as an entry turbo for Rotary rated at something like 330-350 hp, which are still not compareable to 25G compressor which is able to push up to 500 hp on Rotary. You will be happy with a TD07-25G.
On Mitsu Tubos, not only the series with exhasut size das matter (TD06, TD05, TD07) but more the compressor size (20G, 25G, 19C, 29D, 33D, 34D etc)
