All you big single guys in!

Whats up gentlemen? I jus wanted to start a friendly thread about tires. I know this isnt the wheels/tires section btw.

This is mainly for you street drivers. What do you guys run for tires/wheels? Use the stock wheels and some slicks for track only? or are you goin to the strip in your street tires and what are you running? Brand/sizes please!!

Reason i ask is im getting my GT42R tuned this weekend.

I have always used Dunlop brand,

On my SP RX7 I run the same brand in a semi slick Hard H compound D02J (i think is model from memory), durability is excellent and grip is super.

I have upgraded to a 800+bhp engine combination now (yet to be exploited) but well before that I installed a complete race logic traction control system with digital adjuster and my own software programing. Without this anything over 550bhp is very useless on the street and underutilized on the circuit track when running semi slick tires as you simply cant feed in power at all and cant use full power on anything but the straights while in 4th gear or higher.

Size is stock SP forged BBS wheels (17")

rear is 255 front is 235 from memory.

Have used these tires in medium compound and they grip even better but dont last as long and go off after a while if your doing lots of laps back to back.

Fikse FM5s in 17x8.5 and 17x10, with BFG G Force KDs in 245/40 and 275/40. I love the tires in the dry, they stick very well on the street at boost levels as high as 17 psi, and they also look pretty damn aggressive
