Actually looks to be Nitrile brake duct hose, great for making impossible corners, and the like. I use it on my race car in 4" for my CAI. It works very well. It is both heat resistant, and very durable.

I guess I know what I will be shopping around for now. Clean setup, just wondering about blow off valve placement (just to get closer to wastegate??) and what is covering the hotside of the turbo. Blanket of some sort?

Try this on for size smartass...hit ebay for some 350Z 3" El Cheap *** Intakes, buy 2-3 for 40 bucks, get a hack saw, some rubber couplers. 30 minutes and 3 brain cells later it looks like it might be decent. Sure its not a FD but I wouldnt run that **** on my car because it will create too much turbulance in the intake, thats why people remove the stock TID on Turbo 2s and put a straight pipe, 1300cc.com advertises that there is a potential gain of 2psi. I designed this for my SVX and it had some interesting bends in it, anytime it was 40 degrees or less outside it was like a whole nother car and that was NA with a chip, it ate **** right up, My T2 has a topmount intercooler shround emtpied out with a Green airfilter inside that is fed into my turbo. Hence the hoodscoop is functional at ramming air into the filter. And I will be glad to post the pics of my RE swap when its done and its intake setup. There wont be any cheap *** dryer pipe, just cheap *** Honda Intake tube.

the inlet on the turbo is 4inch not three inch, also tried 2 90 degree alluminum piping cut and welded and still would not fit. i was told diesel trucks use these.so i went to amazon hoses in miami.they sold me this is heat resistent and very sturdy.it is not used for driers.it is the same thing i have seen other turbo shop use because of tight spaces.

Wasnt directed at you. Good try with the 4" I would have just put a filter on the turbo directly...because I know there isnt really anywhere to go on a FD for intake piping....

This car, minus the AIC system ran 328 WHP at 12 psi last October. I'd imagine with the AIC system once it's all tuned up his car will be around the 400+ mark. This car is really fast, I've had the pleasure of taking a few rides in it. As far as that "blanket" it was a custom made heat shield made by aicrotary2 himself. He just purchased another shield to go on top of it, reason is it doesn't keep away the heat as wll, it will be an aesthetic piece, it's polished so it gives it that finished look.

that hp was at 6200 rpms and a stock block because the stock injectors were maxed out .now it has a large street port and more fuel.and just purchased a lm-1 wideband for tuning

What do you think happens when air enters the compressor inlet and gets compressed? You could have the smoothest airflow in the world going in before the compressor chops it all up, steps on it and spits it out the top and into the cheese grater aka. the intercooler. It would take about 2 brain cells to figure that out. I would take cooler, denser air at the compressor inlet any day over less turbulent air.

hey so what are the specs on the turbo???? Also the reason people make 2psi with tIIs( I know I have one and did this mod) is partially because of elimating two 90 degree bends but also because the piping is straight 3 inch all the way from the maf to turbo(with one coupling thats 3-2.5 reducer) which creates better air flow. I can post pics of my custom tid and stock one if people would like a pic.
