Question Advantage of the single turbo setup?

Man I seem to be just squeezing out all the info I can out of this forum, haha.

Anyways. I have to put in a new 13B engine soon, I want to know what the advantages of a single turbo are. Becasue I am being given the chance to get a 20B as well, but I was thinkin of getting a 13B none turbo and then setting up the turbo on my own, I htough this might be cheaper and better as well. I just want to make about 350-400hp max. SO I was thinking, I can A) Get a 13B-REW witht he twin turbo setup, and then just do the usual exhuast system type of stuff with the Apex'i FC comp. B) a 20B but I don't want the added weight and it seems gettin parts for it would be a hassle and pain in the *** form what Ihave heard. or C) Get a none turbo new rebuilt engine and put an Apex'i RX6 on it, or maybe a HKS, not sure just yet. But what are your opions on this matter?

There's no non-turbo FD engine unless you were to put an older model engine in there which would have higher compression pistons that won't take high boost. The 20b will be VERY expensive to install and pointless for only 350-400 hp. One somewhat economical choice would probably be the 13b REW reman (~$2800 with no core) and upgraded twins. The reman doesn't come with turbos, intake manifold, throttle body or injectors afaik so you should take that into account. Single turbo is simpler and usually makes more hp but also more expensive. But since you don't have stock turbos already it might not be that much more. What is your budget like? You might consider looking for a complete engine used.

I see from your other post it's a JDM chassis. I assume with no engine, turbos or tranny? I'm not sure what kinds of wiring problems you'll run into with it being JDM. Someone more knowlegable than me will probably answer soon. If I were starting from scratch i would buy a blown motor and get it rebuilt with a port then go single turbo but i won't be happy till my car rides wheelies all day long It's 4:45 am and i was up so i figured i'd chime in and try to help.

The problem with a 20B aside from weight and parts is expense, even if you do all the work yourself, your looking at $20,000+ to put a 20B in an FD, the car just wasnt designed for it. A lot of the smaller single turbos make as much power and spool just as fast or faster than the modified stock twins, getting something like a GT35/40, Apex RX6, or a T04E will reach 10-15psi by 3200RPM and make 360-400RWHP on pump gas. The benefits of doing a single turbo are less heat, get rid of a lot of extra "stuff" in the engine bay, and they look a lot nicer IMO.

Yeah it is a JDM chassis and I am lookin at a budget of about 10k to 15k depends on how my other cars sell, haha. Mna and here I was thinking, Atkins was selling a 13B without turbos. But I take it a single turbo kit would easily weigh a lot less as well? The contents of the chassis: Engine core, no intake manifold, no radiator and looks liek no oil coolers as well. Has a 5 speed transmission though. THe only hting I do not like abou tthe JDM chassis is that it's a 4 seater, bleh. I wonder if that means it is a little larger then US spec, or is the trunk space just smaller? Doesn't really matter. But if I use a RX6, GT35/40, or TOE4 won't I have to do some stuff to the engine as well to make sur it doesn't blow up in my face from all the boost? Thanks for the help you guys.

Best kit for the money would be building it yourself. You could get a 60-1 and all the stuff you need for probably 2500$ or less maybe, I never added it all up.
