500 whp single turbo setup

I am looking into purchashin a single turbo setup. I want the finally whp to be between 450 and 500. I was wondering what I would need to do to the engine and electonically and internally. Iwas also wondering what the best setup would be. I would also like to keep in streetable. So any suggestions will be apprectiated.

I have a 1993 Rx7
Thanks

If your car is stock now, or close to stock, hope you have $12 - $15k. 450 - 500rwhp is gonna cost you, can't just bolt a turbo on and go put down 450 - 500rwhp...well, not more than once anyways.

I'm gonna write up a stock -> single turbo FAQ here soon. Seems we answer this question once a week in this forum.

Don't need a bridgeport, 3 rotor or 3mm seals. It would be damn cool though! You do need a standalone ecu (haltech, wolfems, power fc, etc.), a larger turbo, fmic, and preferrably a streetport. A good tuner helps too.

Do people not at least read down the page before posting these questions???

Easiest setup:
T78 turbo kit
3 row Greddy intercooler
Aftermarket radiator
Power FC w/ commander + a respected tuner
DP, MP (or high-flow cat), CB
Profec B
HKS twin-power ignition amp (works with stock coils)
BIG fuel pump
1680 X 2; 850 X 2 injectors
Engine rebuild w/ big streetport + reliability mods
+ extra $$ for unexpected things

So what did I forget?

-Kyle

ps oh yeah, SEARCH!!!!!

I've got a T04S and it put down 400 rwhp at only 14 PSI. I think that XS eng has a T04S running 20-something PSI putting down 600+ on race fuel, but I might be mistaken there.

Check out this webpage I made... there are like 5 T04S graphs on there making from about 360-500 at the wheels on from 13-? PSI of boost.

or if you're really lazy, here's the direct link:

The search function is crap on this forum. Don't flame him for it. I never find anything in the search that I am looking for and everything has been dealt with here at least once.

That much power can be had for much less than $15000. I got over 400 rwhp for less than $3500 on a 2nd gen.

you can also try ernieT's setup. he seems to be doing well with his but he is an exceptional driver so you may not have the same results. he ran an 11.22 at only 13-14 psi. also, rather than asking for 500rwhp, what are your goals for the quarter mile? it may not need 500rwhp to accompplish it.
