Why would you say that this turbo cant go further than 20psi and make power. There are guys pushing 6765 turbos to 30psi on there rx7's and still making power and we all know that the 65mm wheel is small for most people liking on rotarys. The t78 should be just fine up to 30psi with the bigger exhaust wheel. Yea it may spool slower than most newer turbine wheels but at least its not super restrictive. The supra guys run 30psi on the t78's and make around 700hp. No other way to tell but to put it on the dyno and crank up the pressure

Ur right, it's a Mitsubishi Turbo. Very hard to get parts for. I tried, Mitsubishi would not sell me the parts for my TD06-25G turbo years ago. The only was was to ship the turbo to Greddy, but that was just as expensive as buying a new one

OMG, the amout of bull **** here is incredible. Yeah its not a new turbo kit but it is "period specific"

The T78 is very easy to get parts for and have modified. Give me a call when or if your ball bearing turbo goes and you get the bill for the replacment of the cartridge. I had my T78 running 100% for 6 years without a issue. It has been rebuilt by Majestic Turbo. Only $500 for a complete rebuild and the larger garrett based compressor wheel (70MM).

If you want over 500 HP its not just the turbo. I see some much hype for new turbo kits but when it comes down to the dyno numbers they all fall short.

As for the sweet spot of this turbo, 21psi on my current set up but that's just due to the 3 inch down pipe. If I had a 4 inch it would boost like a champ up to 25psi.

I absolutely agree that it takes more to a setup than just a turbo to make power.

That's badass that you're breaking 500 at 21psi

Do you mind kicking me a copy of your dyno sheet (if you've got a soft copy)? I'd love to see the curves you're getting! (I've caved to Brian's constant ranting and raving for MoTeC's and will probably be running my own car up their way this summer for the transplant, lol)

Hopefully I'll have mine back from Ray in the next week or two, we def gotta grab a beer or something then and compare toys (in a non-loungy sorta way)

Well it's 8 years ago since i damaged my TD06-25G. At that time i could not find anyone localy to rebuild it. The local turbo rebuild shop contacted mitsubishi and they said they could not suply parts for it.

I contacted greddy in the UK and they gave me a price of 1200 £ plus shipping for getting the turbo rebuilt.

It might be alot easier now to get it fixed.

But anyway it was a great little turbo. Had about 370rwhp with it

hey nuvolari, what did your fuel system consist of? i'm running a t-78 with a supra pump, 550/1600 combo but i'm running out of fuel at 14 psi so it's only tuned for 12. ( it's mainly my fault because i got used injectors and didn't get them cleaned) but yeah i'm looking to do a different fuel setup, i want more power, lol
