Question 5.12 rearend gears

I was just wondering if anyone had any real experience with the 5.12 gear that was used with slicks for dragracing. If have a 84 gs with a 13b monster bridge and have been told that the 5.12 would make 4 to 5 tenth difference in the quartermile. I know the price for the 5.12 are alot more but if it produces those results I would definately buy them. Also wondering about their strength, I have heard of people breaking the teeth of the gears because of their weak nature. Is this true will the gear still function correctly or would you have to buy a new set. Also where is the best place to buy and how much are they.

the gears are strong , but it puts more strain on the axle shafts, it will reduce your quarter mile time , especially on a all motor car....

check your axleshafts every 10 passes, they will twist alot before they break!
