Revive: I have a stage 3, and I'm shooting for a full 3" turboback straightpipe. currently its a 2.5" dp to a 3.25" catback, to 3" blastpipes. very loud and sounds amazing, but I'm tired of my teenage frankenstein exhaust. any recommendations for restrictions or no? because I have no noise restriction, i want it loud.

Anything you run into a racing beat y-pipe and dual mufflers will be reasonable. Make it as big as you like then meet up with the racing beat catback and done.

I run a RB downpipe to a custom Borla XR-1 midpipe into the RB rev tII catback and its almost stock quiet at idle. I'd like to Make a bell mouth 3.5 downpipe to replace the RB unit when I upgrade to a BNR stage 4 but we'll see if I can find someone to fabricate that for a reasonable price.

I'm running hi comp (s4 n/a) rotors like the OP so backpressure/heat is the enemy and the easier it is to extract the better.

You've got it backwards.

The further from the turbo you go the less impact piping diameter has on performance. If you were going to run 3.5" it woulda best serve you to have a 3.5" downpipe then taper it down to 3". Blast pipes are dumb because they add a lot of noise and little (if any) performance, they belong on 240's so please leave them there.

no theyre not necessary, but theyre the style i'm into. i just think 3.5 is a little too big for a turbo that isnt huge.

That's not something to be proud of, or strive for.

Look, the best exhaust for ANY turbo car is a megaphone straight of the turbine housing as there is no amount of exhaust restriction that offers any performance benefit. This is highly impractical for street cars so we run exhaust systems. Using what we already know, the less restriction near the turbo the better the performance. Sorry that's just the way it works. This concept applies to ALL turbos regardless of size, so the question "is it neccessary" is invalid.

You have all the information you need to build a proper exhaust system, but if you choose to build an ***-backwards mad tyte dift 240 setup for the purpose of going slow and being loud, you have every right to do so. Just don't waste peoples time pretending like you care what the right way is, when it is clear you priorities lie elsewhere.

overandout.

You post asking for tips on the best exhaust stating you're tired of "teenage frankenstein" exhaust, then shun the advice given.

Whatever dude, you keep doing your "thug thizzle" and we'll continue to have faster cars that are more pleasant to drive.

Loud because fast is cool, loud because loud is for trophy bottoms and ICP fans. Are you one of them? Both perhaps?
