I had a T04z last year on a BP 13b rew engine. It produced 530rwhp at 21 psi with E85. And i had 15 psi of boost at 3000 rpm

And that was with a 1.32 exhaust housing. So i was quite happy with it. Only problem was that i overeved the engine and the front rotor hit the front casting and smashed the sideseals.

So what's the highest dyno most have seen with a T04R/Z? Haven't seen many dyno's pushing them past 20 psi. Should have grunt up into the 30's.

Just use the same stock locations for the single turbo.

Have you (or anyone else for that matter) got photos of the T04Z fitted to the engine on the HKS cast iron manifold?

I have the turbo, but am trying to decide on a new manifold. I would happily buy the HKS cast iron one if I knew it would fit.

Thanks.

Paul.

Question

15psi at only 3000rpm sounds great, but it seems the T04Z's run outta steam at around 530-550rwhp at high boost..... what's the highest HP you guys ever see/hear rx7's making running them, has anyone gotten near 600rw use it?? Thanks

You can push a TO4Z to 600whp. There is a forum member making 700whp on a GT35. A T04Z is a larger turbo then the GT35.

There is a thread on here talking all about cast manifolds vs. stainless and single turbo vs. twin and methanol injection vs. race fuel. It is super informative and he helped me decide not to use a cast manifold because of the heat they generated and retain. You should search it. I think his user name is Harold. It was an amazing read.

U kidding? How is that possible... i didn't think a 35R could flow enough ft/lbs of air to make anywhere near 700rwhp*

If a T04Z can push 600rwhp all out it's definitely the turbo i'd want then... It's my understanding that with the DBB and twin-scroll/divided option it's the quickest spooling turbo for its HP range...

Damn, I could've swear that he had mentioned 700hp on a 35R, or maybe it was on another thread (which I can't find); so I stand corrected

To clarify, the forum member only made 5xx rwhp with the 35r, he is making near 700rwhp on a gt42 or s475 cant remember but on stop ports. The 35r on stock ports did trap 130 in the 1/4 though.

I've got a T04R (journal bearing T04Z). With a big street port you will make enough power to outrun most cars on the street or get yourself killed, even on straight pump gas .

Yes, I also could have sworn he said 35R because I even questioned him about how a 35R can even make power at 28psi+ and his answer was because of the amount of water that was injected. It must have been in another thread.

i Have a precision pt67 dual ball bearing which is similar to the t04z. I am pushing 429whp@15 on 109 octacne race fuel. It will push over 500whp @20psi.
