does any one else have the old trubo set liek i do? where the fuel and air mix in the carb then run through the turbo then forced into the engine? if you do, do you know any other way to run it?

 

you are running what is called a DRAW-THRU setup. it works but you cant run an intercooler. what most people do is BLOW-THRU setups like mine. you have to get your carb boost prepped to handle the pressure but it works loads better!!!

 

I also run a draw through turbo setup.....
the ArKay turbo package that was made available in the early 80's....

I am unclear on the intercooler comment. This may be a stupid question, but with the draw through system, it is not possible to run an intercooler once the fuel mixture has been drawn by the compressor? Draw the mixture through the intercooler and then into the engine? I suppose this could be dangerous and you'd probably loose the atomization. Just curious, as I've been looking into somehow converting my draw through to forced with an intercooler.

yes, curious as to what float you used on the down draft. i have never seen a blow thru setup using and ida style carb. very nice.
