If I cap it and it runs like ***, will it harm the engine if I run it like that to see if it will "relearn" the idle? Should I just d/c the battery, brake, then reconnect and start to force it to relearn?
depends on your ecu setup... if its tuned no... b/c it will rid it of its settings... if its stock why not
Use a autozone or similar vacuum cap... a hose w/ a bolt looks tacky on the UIM IMO.

ya it will reset the PFC in the sense that it will "relearn" the idle etc., but it would not erase the inj maps, or timing or split, etc. Regardless, I could write it all back with the datalogit anyway. I went to Autozone and bought assorted vacuum caps by Spectre $5 and change. Replaced with engine off, cranked fine and idles fine. Not much difference in vac at idle. Jumped maybe - point. 18-19 at 1000-1100 rpm, 12-14 at 750-800rpm. Mild streetport. Thanks again for the advice.
update-SNAKE OIL! I can't explain this, but the car runs several degrees celsius cooler with the port capped! I also can now run with feedback control enabled without the car dying everytime I come to a stop. I was blowing the cap off under boost every time, so I had to tie wrap it. It still seems pretty loose, but stayed on for three 1.0 kg/cm2 runs. It doesn't look as nice as the simple blue cap. Anything safe I can add to make it stick? Sorry to jack your thread, Nader. I also need to know about running 02 feedback without an airpump...look here
Thanks!
Thanks!
