$1000 out the door for poweredbymax. I'm getting mine asap. Theyre 10/8 with caster and camber adjustment. Did I mention theyre down the street from me?

IMHO untill I've seen a shock dyno and have reports of them having good long term reliability then everything's crap.

I'm not going to spend $1k+ on something completely unknown. Most people on any of these forums have only ever experienced worn out stock stuff and then one aftermarket kit so they don't have any basis of comparison, so their reviews aren't all that useful at all.

I'm thinking of going Koni/GC on 425/300, then switching to Bilstein revalve midway through the season. I'll have some impressions on that when it's done.

We share a brain on some things. That is the EXACT reason I hate these threads. Somebody is going to go from an unknown to a 10/8 which IMHO from what I've read from people who actually race competitively and professionally is WAY to stiff.

7/5 is the usual kg/mm setting.
400/275 is the usual lb/in setting. 400/275 = 7.14/4.91 kg/mm

Some go stiffer drom there, especially if they're using really wide slicks, but that's the standard starting point and that's what I use on my car and it's plenty stiff for track use and doesn't punish me on rough roads. It's stiff, but perfectly liveable.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, stiffer doesn't equal better (not blindly anyway, there needs to be a reason why you want/need to be stiffer).

I'll be in between the two at 425/300. Should be a nice compromise.

I wouldnt necessarily say all cheap coilovers are junk. People just have too high of an expectation.

Yes resurrection......

So what is the consensus on the Stance Coilovers? I was looking at ISC's Bilstein Suspension EvilAviator showed me a while back, seems like their setup is good, but what about when I need to replace a shock?

I think D2 Coilovers are Junk, Megan Racing some are junk and some aren't. IMO I rather spend a bit more and get something nicer. But yet again you still blow expensive coilovers too.

D2 coil overs are just shitty, their shock adjustments sucks and if I remember right I saw a shock dynos of theirs and the adjustments doesnt change anything lol. Their lowest adjustment was same as their highest.

Id rather piece together a Ground Control Coilover then buy a D2.

1. The vendors of this crap are the ones who are "noob bashing" by taking advantage of their ignorance and selling them crappy "entry level" coilovers for nearly the same price as a good set of coilovers.
2. I know that you didn't rezz the thread. My comment was a general statement which is unfortunately true.

While I realize that not everybody has a lot of money to spend on their car, it is my opinion that if you don't have $1050-1150 to spend on a decent Ground Control or ISC Racing setup, then you have no business spending $900 on cheapie junk coilovers unless you are more concerned about the color matching your car than you are about the actual performance value. Also, the overwhelming majority of forum members would be better off with a nice set of Racing Beat, KYB AGX, or Tokico dampers and light sport springs as opposed to a full coilover setup anyway. This is especially so because the money you save could go toward new suspension mounts and bushings which are badly needed yet usually overlooked by those who choose the cheapie coilover setup.

If you want a warranty on parts, then buy from Ground Control. They warranty a lot of their parts, sometimes even dampers, so you may want to contact them for details.

just wait for someone to sell a cheap set of ground controls

if you really want to drop your car

I'm a picky ****, reason why my car is still stock height because I haven't saved enough money for the stuff I really want (Rather do it right the first time)
