doesnt mean im cheap!
i cant justify paying 1100 for a set of coilovers when i already have tokico blues...id like the height adjustment though...

Blues are only slightly stiffer than stock shocks, even if you get the softest possible GC coilovers the shocks will be totally overpowered and the ride will be seriously underdamped and you'll get lowrider bounce.

I didn't read all the pages so I don't know if this has been discussed already but has anyone heard of stock JDM coilovers? I hadn't before I saw this guy's ebay auction.

I thought we'd already decided that there was no such thing as stock coilovers.
RSR springs on Blues will still give a bouncy ride according to others who've done that IIRC. You'll need to stick pretty close to stock rates.

Nice to see Silk Road listed in the bunch. For those of you thinking about buying Tien, LOL, don't waste your money unless you plan on putting them on a Scion XB.
My friend and I are both running the Silk Road RMA8's. Spring rates are 8 up front and 6 in the rear. You can request any spring rate you want though.
With the exception of ride height, these are setup very nice straight from the factory. The total cost through Driftfactory.com ran me $1600, and the coilovers were at my door in just under a week... straight from Japan!
The quality and ride performance of these coilovers are sick! I would definetely recommend these coilovers to anyone who wants to put down the extra $$$ for a great product. One thing to remember though, if you f up one of your coilovers drifting into a wall or some ish, good luck getting a single piece replacement. From what I heard, you can't just buy the particular coilover/part through SilkRoad, they only sell them as a set.
As for a Tokico setup with lowering springs, I'm sure they are nice and all but the two guys I know who have that type of setup now want to buy a set of coilovers after riding in our cars...
Also, don't forget about CUSCO!

Teins are good. I've seen dyno plots of the Flex's for a Miata and they're quite good. Several people have gone well over 30 000 miles on them without issue. Sure they're on the soft side, but you can get other springs to put on them to fix that. It's better than a lot of the coilovers out there that are rediculously stiff. Most racers running on super soft racing tires don't use springs as stiff as many of the coilovers out there. They're also revalvable and servicable in the US, whereas I beleive Silkroads need to go back to Japan.

more people need to try Stance coilovers. from what i have heard of them they seem to be one of the best for the price. i recall a shock dyno showing they were very well valved.

i don't have any first hand experience yet with any of their coilovers. but from their website you basically have 3 options. actually it's a good thing you bring this up, since when i started this thread Stance only had one coilover for the FC3S.
now they have
1) GR+, $1295
2) GR+ PRO, $1395
3) GR+ 3, $1995
Basically each step up you get more features. But as i mentioned before not a lot of people have tried these yet. their GR+ i know is the most known since it was the first one they released. i've only heard good reviews for it.
the GR+ 3 is an external reservoir system, and i think for $1995 that is a very good price. but if you are looking to spend a little less, i'm sure either the GR+ or PRO will be good. read up on them on their website and decide, and if you do get them give us a review here.

I'm definitely going with the GR+ PRO. I'll post a review here if someone else havent, I hope they're good for performance but confortable enough to street.

here is a thread from a little while back where the Stance GR+ coilovers were discussed. if you read through the thread there are some reviews about them:
https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/stance-coilovers-511263/
if you want slightly softer ride for the streets, you can request lower spring rates from Stance. 8/6 would be a good choice.
i have read an analysis of Stance coilovers on a shock dyno and they are supposed to be very well valved (not tested for the FC3S though). it's hard to say until you get them on the car how they will feel.

yeup, poweredbymax has some for $1000 a set. Also if you blow one somehow they will replace it for 100$. The reviews say they are super stiff, perfect for drifting.
