Finished tuning the car today
We started this process a month ago but problems with the microtech cuased a pause in the session. Finally got the microtech back from Ausi a few days ago and got a chance to put the car back on the dyno to finish it today. Like always problems came up now the wastegate actuator will only hold at 9psi. The boost climbs up to 12 psi but comes right back down to 9 psi. When i get that problem solved its going back on the dyno but for now the car runs great and these numbers will do for now.
MODS: Street ported S4 irons w/ S5 internals and S5 housings, 3" turbo back exhaust, S4 Hybrid Turbo w/ Turbo XS tubular manifold, HKS filter, NPR FMIC, 720cc primary / 1000cc secondary injectors, Walbro fuel pump, Aeromotive FPR, Microtech LT8S ECU, Magnacore 10mm wires, Turbo XS Dual Stage MBC, BDC throttle body, 3 MSD 6A ignition boxes

Im actually going to ditch the actuator and weld a tial on the manifold. I have someone giving me a good deal on one so im going to go that route

went to the local 8TH mile track today.
Had a hard time getting into second gear Due to a bad shifter.
reaction time : 0.951
60 Foot time : 2.133
Trap MPH : 76.9
ET : 9.509
If i would have gotten into second easier i know i could have done better.

Well the time has come again to re tune the car. I have changed the set up of the car from the S4 hybrid to an HKS log manifold, HKS 40mm wastegate, Turbonetics 60-1 w/ .81 AR, Turbonetics MBC, Turbonetics BOV,and 1600cc secondary injectors. I will be tuning on Fri. Jan 18. Im going for 11.4 A/F at 15 PSI What ever it makes is what it makes. I will keep you guys posted.

Wow, impressive all around! That's great power for a hybrid, especially on a dyno-dynamics... Those things usually read pretty low. Any specs on the hybrid, or could you compare it to any of the (well-known) BNR hybrids?
Your new setup is very close to what I'm hoping to build in several months for my (coming) TII. Very nice! Excellent taste on the engine-bay etc.

The hybrid was built by forum member ZBrown about 3 years ago so you would have to ask him for the specs. If i remember correctly its a TO4B front and i know the back is S4. It could have hit 350 if it would of held boost to red line. Im hoping the new set up will hit high 3's maybe a peak into the 4's. It will be back on the Dyno on Sat so well see how it goes.
your new setup is very similar to what I have put together on my car, except i have the T04S 60-1 with .96 hotside. I look forward to seeing how this does. I'm really curious how the HKS 40mm wastegate and MBC combination work out for you especially in preventing overboost. I just put in a brand new HKS 40mm w/ 10psi spring but I haven't gotten the car to the point where I can boost it yet.

Well i went back to the dyno yesterday to have the new set up tuned and didn't have any luck. The car had boost issues the entire session. First pass it hit 15 psi with out any problems than the boost kept getting lower and lower with each pass. He tested the turbo, wastegate, BOV, couplers and the boost controller and everything was working fine. He went as far as to take off the exhaust and did a pass with out it but no luck. The only thing that didnt change from the old set up to the new one is the intercooler so in the next few weeks i will be changing that and put it back on the dyno. I will update when that happens.

Sucks to hear.
Could there have been an exhaust leak before the turbo? Maybe a gasket is going?
Did you try running the wastegate with the boost controller bypassed?

I'll bet you're slightly blowing a pipe coupler off. I've seen it happen before where a clamp fails and a pipe will ever-so-slightly blow off while under pressure and essentially disallow much pressure to build in the manifold. Double-check it all.

No exhaust leaks. Tried everything. Some runs it would hit 15 some runs it would hit 5 psi with out even touching the boost controller.

All piping has tabs welded at the end for that purpose and all clamps are the industrial type T- Bolt clamps just because that did happen when the car was tuned on the hybrid set up.

I know the feeling man... with the vr4 that I sold I was hoping to put over 500 to the wheels on the last tune section... had some issues with the turbos and only ended up putting a disappointing 437 awhp w/ 463 ft/tq... I was going to replace the turbos, but then I sold the car... oh well... LOL
anyway, you have a very nice FC... i been looking for one for a while now... still no luck...
