So to add a little more fire to the mix. I have got to say I have no real like for hondas or the other little econoboxes. (hate them with all the bolt-on instant crap)
But I have a buddy who had/has a Honda that will eat up all kinds of things. IT used to do low 11 second 1/4's on street tires. All I know he had was it was a 95 or 96 Civic Si. IT was the fastest one they've made so far( I'm not a honda guy , so I might be wrong, but am pretty sure it's one of thier fastest hondsa ever.
He had all the things you could to to it, Huge T-78 and all that jazz.

But he ran on like an ***, and drove all around the south east, FL, GA, etc, racing ither guys for $$. He musta put a hurt on someone, maybe they thought he was sandbagging, maybe he was sandbagging. you'd have to ask him. But about a year ago, his ride got jacked, cause you all know, when you run around like an ***, showing off what you got, people get envious and do something. He got his car stolen. IT was recovered, but it didn't even have it's doors.
Since his dad is well off, and they have lots of fun racing( they do the SCCA racing bit), they decided to make a monster. All I know is they are looking for 9 second times, in a car that could be driven to the track. Maybe, not a daily drive, but at least one that could be driven a few hundred miles or more to go to a track. Which means things like CD players and all. I doubt it will have a/c!!

I haven't asked him about it in a few months, last I knew, he got some block from japan that would make every honda guy cry. I'm not even going to guess which one, althogh, I am pretty sure that it is not a block running Variable Valves.

I'll ask him about it, maybe he'll post, he's a member, but only posts like once every year!.

Yah, I've seen some crazy hondas, been totally thrashed by a lot of them. Its funny cause most of hte time I never see it coming then they turn out to have a huge turbo and breeze by me with probably half the pedal down if that.

But I'm not surprised it got jacked, thats a big problem with hondas exspecially nice ones, they WILL get stolen, period. The block he got was probably a B18 out of a type R, those do have Vtec heads I believe, they get like 130 ft/lbs. and 190 horsepower outta the stock N/A motor. At one point I did consider this crx shell a kid was practically going to give to me, so I researched some of the engines, and thats why I know they have potential. I was just like angel thinking civic BS couldnt do ****, but I was proved wrong, and one day someone is going to thrash him in a race and hes going to be the type that will whine about it and say it was cause of a fluke or something. He just strikes me as the kind of person who cant accept defeat. =\

 

well like i said with race fuel, and forced induction all things are possible, but any real racer knows, there is no replacement for displacement, get a 400 cube or more and boost that, again 1000 + hp easy, and u can ride it to the grocery store and back on pump gas, ur point now..u cant do that with a lil motor, sure a small engine can do it... can by done skimping on longevity and relaibility...but i want natural hp without all the excess boostin, and c116 and dyno time...but if u wanna be hell bent on arguing what has been proven so many times over, oh well be ur own punching bag..as for satan boy, he is just so silly i cant address any of his insecurities, he like lil tiny hondas, its a compatibilty thing, size of engine to ***** ratio i think...any way i dont see hondas gettin the awards on the drag circuit, and putin down the lowest times...not...so lets see the scenario, stock honda and stock 3 gen ...who wins, honda rite.lol yeah ok and as for the 1.1 and 1.3 L rotary, its the only exception, and has the best per liter power then any other production eng to date..

I own one such as my daily driver - Integra TypeR. And I can tell you, the cars are not much different on that specific track, because a lot of horsepower isnt necessarily an advantage

 

There is an BMW M3 (tuned, fully adjustable suspension, co-driver's seat removed, $5k in 19" tyres (M3 CSL tyres), race brakes, SMG tranny) who did time of 1:08.1, about 1.5sec faster then me. Then there's a cool car - Venturi Atlantique, tuned to around 400hp who did a 1:08.7 on fresh tires, then its me at 1:09.7 with RX7, then about 0.5sec slower are a bunch of BMW E36 M3's (Euro-version 321hp), BMW Z3 M Coupe, and a Porsche 911 at around 1:10.6, and a bunch of bikes also at mid 1:10's, Impreza STi around 1:12, ...

We dont have any vettes at the track, as there's only a few of them around here in Europe. Hondas are around 1:15, give or take some.

Its all good fun.

 

That's Awesome man, sounds like you guys really have a good time out there on track days. IMO that's where it should be. 'grassroots' style good fun track days are the best. a little competition, and all in good fun!

I talked to a buddy who ridea a triumph every day. I think it's a 2001, but I'm not sure. I do know it is a 3 cylinder and I think it's 935 CC or something like that, Just under 1 litre. I'll ask him what it is, and what he's done to it.
He has rode busas, R1s, zx10s and all the others. ( he hangs with a bunch of other sportbikers, still can't get him in 4 wheels!)
He has told me the bikes are all pretty damn fast, and only a turbo busa was able to pull on him. But that was before he set the bike up stage 3, and sproketed it out. He said he still pulls off the dig, but No bike can leave him now. He says everytime he races, he expects to lose a bit(the tri is heavy) but ha hasn't been able to find anyone yet!

The one thing I thought was really interesting:
I asked him about how much you could ring out first gear.
I asked him if 100 mph is plausible. He said that most new bikes would do that, but you'd have to have the throttle pegged to the stop. and he also said that you would be out of control at that point. Basically he was saying the change from full throttle 1st to 2nd is not a pretty change, and only a tool asking for a hurtin would run like that.

I thought that was really interesting.

i can say that i place much credit in bmw, my 328 i is a monster of a sedan, stock: it drives fast, with comfort and manners, a great car. the m3 is a superb machine. the 911 is a top notch machine...but can u show a pic of the venturi...never seen that

 

well yeah i think agreed on that point with u b4 since we where speakin about the bikes and all, but some people dont read all the post, and things get lost in translation....so this course pretty much equalizes cars potential, and lets driver ability take a better foothold

DUDE YOU GOT SO BIG ONES sayin you can pull on a gsxr 1000. If i had the jet kit from the factory o-60 is like what 3 secs. 104mph in first is damn fast yes but mainly it is just a pace gear the other 5 gears a put thightly togther to give maxium accel from 100 -220 and so on. hes right about the physics. just do the math oh wait you guys already do. You do it everytime you want to race a supercar. you find out the horse power and the wieght. do a little math and see who will win before racing. but thats just in a strait line. Again back to accel. yeah sure you may be able to beat the bike midway threw a coner but what about the entrance and exit that is wear most of the time comes through a turn. again the bike has you beat. it cant take the corners asa fast but what can it do. dive deeper into the coner, and also exit the coner at a far greater acceleration rate than a street driven car.

Oh BTW that vid of the porschea is a way old demo for the car and a very novice rider verus the best germany has to offer. Ohh and go ahead and hit me up with the bad rep I really dont care.
