Track Day - May 10th Calgary - ALL WELCOME

Canadian Rockies Miata Club is hosting a track day at Race City. Welcome to ANYone in ANY Car. Price is $40 per car.

We rent the Southern Roadcourse and it is run autocross style. Timing Equipment is on hand and numbers are recorded, then e-mailed to you. Very Very Fun. We did this about 2 weeks ago and the BMW club joined us. It was so TOTALLY AWESOME.

REQUIREMENTS:

Helmet Snell 95 - Most Motorcycle Helmets are fine.
Car - Any car is fine as long as its a Sports Car and obviously safe. In spirit of the club event, Mazda is the prefered weapon.
Camera
Barf Bag optional

Oh, its a 5:00PM until daylight runs out. If weather is clear, thats 5 hours of driving ladies. Thats a hell of a deal for $40. I had at least like 20 runs last time we did it.

Was the tower open, cause thats where you usually rent helmets from.

I don't have a helmet yet, since I am a track noob, but you may not want a track noob there anyways.

Guy was there in his BMW and he was running slower than anyone I've ever seen. You run at your own pace.

I dont think theres helmet rentals, but then again, I dont know because everyone there brought one.

Bring a Dirt Bike helmet. Im sure it doesnt matter.

Starts at 5PM sharp so be there at least 10-15 minutes earlier. There will be a required safety meeting, then a slow course drive. Too much time to walk.

It'll clear up around noon. High of 12. Its already paid for so if we dont go, we loose the money. And besides, its great to sharpen your drifting skills on wet road.

If you go to a motorcycle shop you can get a cheap but good quality HJC helmet for $100.

Word is that its still on, rain shine or snow. I havent received any information that would indicate otherwise. Guess I'll find out when I get there.

Well that sucked for anyone that showed up. AND out club is out alot of money.

We had it booked for the 9th and not the 10th. The events co-ordinator forwarded paperwork that indicated the 10th as the specified day. Sorry for anyone that got turned away.

The best part was, all they needed to do was call one guy to come watch us race and we could have.
