Question power from apexi rx6???

I have seen a few dyno graphs run with the rx6 and I was wondering what the best you can pull from them is. Max psi and the related rwhp? I want to build up a good road racing car and I was hoping this turbo could get me in the low 400rwhp. This is the fastest spooling turbo correct? Is the difference in spool up marginal compared to the gt35/40? Should I go with the larger turbo for more overall power?

Thanks,
Bryan

I have the rx6. Great turbo BUT the GT35/40 is a better turbo. Better kit, same spool up, better price, more potential power, and easily rebuilt. Rx6 is great. I get 390 at 15lbs. Some guys run 18 lbs w/o problems(Dougie fresh) but I dont need all that. There is PLENTY of power in a very useable band but the GT is a better bang for the buck. I hope that helps. Goos luck!

I just got around 330 @ 10-11 psi boost, old plugs and 93 octane pump gas. I was running about 11.5-12 afr and not much advance. All things being equal I expect around 400 easily at 17psi on 93. On the street and on a road course the RX6 is a great turbo. At the strip, it looks like there may be some better choices.

hmmm...which would you all use if you were building a road racing car? 450rwhp is right where I want to be but it seems like that number is out of reach for most rx6's; of course there are exceptions. If I were to purchase this turbo from the rx7 store could I request the rx6 b? Is it more expensive?

No, I think Dougie has got me beat.
I made 443 uncorrected RWHP and 417 corrected RWHP at 15 psi. I haven't tested it at higher boost levels because until recently the best gas available here was 94 RON or 89 AKI octane.

Who knows... now that they sell 98 RON fuel and with a bit more boost... I think I can crack the 450 RWHP mark pretty easily... but 468 at 18 psi is pretty good.

All in all, If I was buying a single turbo kit now... I would get the GT35/40 kit. The RX6A was the best kit for my specific needs 3 yrs ago.

BTW this is on a heavy street port engine, low compression rotors, and a E6K tuned by Matt aka "HITman"... and the usual other stuff.

Go with the GT35/40, easily to rebuild and makes more power.

T04S and GT35/40 are my current two favorite turbos to recommend for what you want to do.

Check my dyno page out....
