Got bored at work today and decided the rx7 needed a new emblem. Figured I'd share it and see what everyone thought. Soon to be 3d printed.

maybe if you explain it a bit it will make more sense?
I cant see a everyday person realizing what its supposed to be?

 

it literally says rx7.
the x is red.
under one of the lines for the x is part of the R which is the silver shape to the left.
the silver shape to the right is the 7.
i have been experimenting with some tweaks i might make as this is just a prototype.

 

Was thinking about doing something like this to make it a little more clear

yeah i have got initial confusion from pretty much everyone until i explain it. which is why i made the second version

i designed the letters using only the curve of a rotor. thought it was fitting

 

I think it looks more like a number four.

 

4 is a bad luck number in Japan (and perhaps China). "Shi" means "death".

 

In that case he/she, might not want that emblem in the shop.

Yeah I noticed the 4 thing as well which is why I made the second version. Of you can think of any other tweaks that would help feel free to do so.

There is an R and X and 7 in there I guess, but it always looked like muddled nonsense to me.

Yeah I could never see the rx7 in that either. I did derive some inspiration from that one though

 

^ I think that's suppose to be an Efini emblem rather than an RX-7 emblem. Excuse my noobness if that is not correct.
