for you rob i went on the hunt for them photos..

seems like the better way is to swap the nose, but i still run the starter no problems.

and they have this 2.7kw starter if you want to spend some coin
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-12V-CW-S...VXct7E&vxp=mtr

the first was 11 teeth and 1.2. then 13teeth and 2.0 which is most common and really good enough, for the 20b guys i would go with the 2.7kw and 14 teeth 2009+ rx8 starter.

Im not knocking your product in any way . I love you products and your company.
could you source a 2.7 kw for a super duty version?

also how many teeth is the stock turbo starter? do you upgrade the tooth count? not only do the upgraded rx8 starters have more power, but they also go up a tooth count.. all the way to 14.

seems like if you were to go after the " i need maximum crank-age! " crowd, you could develop one with a 3.0 kw or thereabouts and 15 teeth. not even the rx8 starter would hold a candle to it... i would pay 300 for a direct bolt in one of those, over paying 190 for the 2.7/14t and drilling a weird hole.

while I like to spend money I tend to set a limit on something that really offers little or no improvement

I applaud you banzai for offering something to the cheap FC owners , $200 is a little outside what I had in mind for this particular item for my car. I have a perfectly fine "new" starter in my car but I just hate that sound it makes now and then

Our starters are built with all brand new RX8 internals including the gear. We could develop a higher kw starter but it would need to be sold for $400+, which is a very limited crowd. These fly off the shelf at $200, I literally have to build starters every week in between building engines. People are blown away at how quickly their cars fire up, very little cranking time.

Even monsterbox is using our FD Starter on his 4 rotor

i wouldnt include the gear in the list of internal items, but nice to know the teeth count is upgraded as well. maybe mention on the website

also the cheapest i have found the 2.0kw ones was 53.. the cheapest 2.7 is 190 from usa.. im gonna go with 2.7 and hole drilled. i'll update this thread so we can see how much rpm the 2.7 is. i found one from GB for $126.34.. some list this as 2.2kw 2.5kw or 2.7.. for the same part number, so i don't expect it to be much over the 2.0. i think 90 percent of people should just go banzai... those who want to spend less and get there hands dirty, may they find this thread.
