Does your wastegate have a noticeable gap around the plunger?

hey I just took my car apart to do some upgrades... I noticed one weird thing.

I have Turbosmart 60mm Power Gate WG60 wastegate. Like every other wastegate, it has the sprung plunger that closes the wastegate opening. I noticed that there is a significant gap (2mm or so) around the plunger. This would make exhaust constantly leak into the dump tube from the uppipe. Is this supposed to be closed completely? or is a small gap normal? Thank you.

You should have a valve seat that slides in
