TCP Magic GFace...?

Hey Ken - ever consider giving us your take on the TCP Magic GFace bumper?

This seems like it could be a great updated alternative to the 99Spec front end. If it was made to accept a OEM 99Spec front lip, I think it would be a homerun.

Would anyone else consider this as opposed to a plateless 99Spec?

I dig it as well. Might consider making the switch if I ruin my current bumper(s)...

You guys should all do the right thing and reach out to Kawato-san directly for authentic TCP Magic parts

I don't believe Kawato-san offers this bumper with the option to run a OEM 99Spec front lip... does he?

Also, kinda a weird place for a "go authentic" discussion. I assume you saw the threads on the FEED hood, RE-A bumper and Mazdaspeed lip, right? I mean, you're aware of what Shine does, right?

I've worked with Ken on a custom set of carbon fiber "FEED" fenders, and have his "RE Amemiya" rear diffuser and low profile spoiler - not on a soap box here

Just saying if you want TCP Magic aero it is readily available. And also that Kawato-san put a great amount effort into his design and deserves your patronage

No, Kawato-san does not offer a '99-spec front lip option; he designed a full front diffuser

If that were to happen I'd be in for sure. Just tell me when to send a deposit!

I get it. My hope is that Ken will hear the calls for this style bumper, but make it in a way that it accepts an OEM 99Spec front lip as opposed to the integrated full front diffuser.

My first impression is this bumper looks close to our Mazdaspeed Spec-R bumper, which isn't too popular to be honest.

This one?

I guess I see the same problem with this one as I do with the TCP G-Face... it has the lip / diffuser "integrated" into the bumper. Being able to run any 99Spec front lip would be ideal.

Also, the Mazdaspeed is a bit "much" for me personally. The GFace is about as close to an "updated" plateless 99Spec bumper as you can get. It's really the subtly that makes it so nice.

would you add a 99 lip to the existing lip on the tcp bumper? that would look weird. and if you chopped that off and made the 99 spec lip fit it would look very close to the plateless 99 bumpers you see all over ebay.

Personally, I would remove the integrated lip/diffuser and run a 99Spec lip (URAS most likely, since that's what's in my garage).

I agree that the point of it is to have it closer to a plateless 99Spec bumper - BUT - with a slightly updated look. Larger intake and ducts, sharper lines and of course plateless. Going for subtle here, not dramatic.
