the issue with using the stock shocks on a hatch this light will be apparent the fist time someone has to take you to the hospital because your car strait knocked your *** out cold.. lol I've personally seen stock hatches that would pop up so fast that if you wernt ready for it you were getting hurt.

With my 99spec wing, my hood won't even pop up on its own or hold midway. I even bought new R1 shocks or it wouldn't stay up at all. Saving 24 pounds with carbon fiber will make it work properly :P. As long as I can put all the stock stuff back on, ill be happy.

I could get interested in this, if the fit is excellent. Does dry CF either save weight or offer greater structural integrity that wet?

p.s. A CF sunroof would be a great item to combine w/ this (please!)

Ken, I got the burnout kit bolted up to my car and it fits great. I am itchy as hell though from drilling holes in Fiberglass for the past two days. Please make this hatch already so that my car can hit the paint booth.

Someone else give Ken a call. I have called him about once a month and I think that he needs a little more persuasion to get this started. So start calling him and letting him know that you want to buy this.

I just talked to Ken today and this is finally a GO. He just has to pop the glass out of the stock hatch that he has before he can make a mold.

just a little fyi the stock shocks can just be replaced with some aftermarket shocks at a lighter weight rating. measure your extended length, your compressed length and check to see what ends are used. any competent parts store should be able to get what you need, does anyone have a weight rating for the stock shocks?
