FD Drop Vent Hood for V-Mount equipped cars
KEN!!
we need your help buddy!
I'm sure there are many members on this forum that will agree that there is not proper drop vent hood meant for V-Mount intercooler equipped cars that is accessible to us.
its a big gap that hasn't been filled by anyone
with this i mean a hood thats designed with a duct that drops down to meet the intercooler core so that our V-Mount systems can function at their highest efficiencies
i really like the drop vent hood from PanSpeed for the FD, maybe that will get the wheels turning
here are some examples, notice the duct under the hood

for me it doesnt necessarily have to be the PanSpeed hood exactly...but a hood that will work with V-Mount setups because no one makes one for the FD that we have any real access to.
they are all in Jap-Land and will cost at least $2000 once you count in shipping and import taxes and all...and then you have to hope that it didn't get damaged in the process!!

i understand what you mean, what v mount do you have? that is the problem with this idea is the hoods are made specific for the setup that they are running. thats why you see foam on the intercooler so it seals to the hood when shut. im running a custom v mount like many others so more often than not the hood is custom...

i was thinking that this would be the problem
but then i think, why not make the drop vent decently deep, and then the person who buys it can trim it to fit their specific setup

By the time this gets around to production, I'd be interested in one as well. Should be knee deep in the motor build.
Also, +1 for Ken being great to deal with. My giant box o' parts should be here tomorrow!
