Yes, the SS-10 banquet will be held at the same Doubletree hotel. This year the banquet will be a more intimate affair, with less seats available. So please be on the look out for the SS-10 Banquet posting soon!

Its cheaper to book through Travelocity.
I just booked my room for $92 a night. That rate was available for all nights, not just the 21st and 22nd.

I just put in a search for hotels in Irvine, CA, checking in the 21st of sept and checking out the 23rd.
When it comes back, I click to sort by name, selected "D", and got this page just now:



Its gone up $6, but its still $1 less than the "special" rate SoCal got.
