There always is! Even breakfast is served.

One also has the option of walking over (10 minute walk) to the Irvine Spectrum to grab a bite at the food court there.

Banquet this year? I was at SS 5, 7 and 12.....it's just not the same without the banquet, in my opinion.

Thanks for the input John. We are still looking into this... considering things have been pretty tough economically for folks the last few years, it has been dificult to stage. But.... we'll see.

I've never been but some demos would be cool like possibly the Falken drift RX7 or the mad mike 4 rotor. Anything by the japanese tuners would be sweet too. I am trying my best to get leave for the event. A live engine build/ porting would also be really neat since I am sure there are plenty of people that have never seen that happen. Maybe an engine builders challenge? Fastest build time, most power, highest rpm. IDK just throwing stuff out there.

Thanks for the ideas. Actual demos are kinda out of the question, due to the type of event this is, and insurance issues. But both car maybe at the event.

An engine builder challenge/demo is in the works!

The only reason not to go to SS13 is if you're DEAD!

Really...we need your support like never before.

I won't go on a soapbox right now...but THERE IS NO EXCUSE to stay home.

There's rotor heads from all over the world that are sick to themselves that they can't figure out a way to make it here.

I have friends from Sweden and Oz that are spending 5,000 dollars just to be with us.

If you can't come from SD why bother even caring?

You don't need a car to be here...you'd probaly get here late and have to park outsde anyway.

Promise us you'll come anyway...IT'S FREE, IT'S FANTASTIC...IT'S THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH.

We have been to three sevenstock events and we get there super early to make sure we get in to park our 10th anniversary rx7. The problem we encounter every time is that we end up moving the car a ( million ) times before getting in to the show......nobody seems to have a clue where to align the different variety of cars. A coffee vendor would be nice on sat. Morning starting around 5 am.

Smile RXVERT Always in Progress

"ghostu2" mentioned, how about , demo drift runs for enthusiast. (Permit pending,) the area where we stage in the morning , then drive off to the Mazda HQ side. That area we stage in is "HUGH" large enough to do a drift exhibition . You already have the other half the parking lot corden off for all others. I second the motion.

Guys as much as we would like to do a demo like this we can not get a permit for this, or insurance, or the go from the IRVINE CO, which we rent the lot from. The one year that a bone-head was doing donuts in the parking lot after the event, we had to pay to get that part of the parking area re-painted (striped). So anything that is a motorsport type demo will not be approved by Mazda risk management or the lawyers.

Thanks for the input here... on the early show ups... I know you get there like 5am or so, the parking lot is not open... and then when we do open it, people just drive where they want and then we have reorganize it. The main issue has been the several layouts that we've tried, and we even posted up ariels and instructions on the forum prior to the event, the last few years, but no one pays attention, so we just end up going with flow... it always works out though. That being said, we are trying to tighten this up a bit this year, by getting more VOLUNTEERS there earlier this year. Interesting idea on the coffee vendor.

Thanks!

only if you want to get there super early and help stage all of the verts in the pre-parking area. This is very difficult because everyone shows up at random times. But if you feel you can pull it off, then volunteer and come on down.

Bern, I'm sure you know about Cars and Coffee at the SS grounds every Sat from 6am to 9am.

The coffee vendor there would be glad to set up I'm sure...since he's there every weekend EXCEPT Sevenstock.

They set up 4 or 5 tables, sell Starbucks coffee and good donuts, and breakfast burritos...cheap. They are great people too, and take good care of the crowd.

This is a GREAT idea for the staging area from 6 to 9am...it shouldn't hurt the on site food court.

Your regulars could do something similar...but the CNC people have been selling coffee and donuts every Sat for 3 years now. PM me.

Agreed put me down for two.

Bernie, we need to start a "sign up" thread for the banquet...it doesn't have to be about selling tickets just yet...but we need to see if we can get enough interest.

I'm hungry aleady.

We set up banquets monthly up here at Arrowhead for 90-150 and the room works with us up til the last day or so...and they can always handle last minute extras.

What kind of minimum do you really need?...it can't be that many. The hotel needs the biz. The resort up here are offering great deals right now...they need the work.
