WTB: Starter in Cen Fla Area for FD

Hey Guys,

My starter has been giving me problems and I believe the soleniod finally took a crap on me. I would put this in the classified section but it is an urgent thing and wanted to see if someone local had one. If you do pm me or call my cell 407-967-8129

Thanks,
Ryan

No problemo!

Yeah, we thought his starter went bad, but when we repaced it, it still didn't start the car. So, first check all the circuits and make sure you are getting power to your starter AND the solenoid. If you aren't, check all fuses. What ended up being wrong with his was the safety button under the clutch pedal. (thanks to greg for pointing this out to us) So check that out too.

Anyway, we just did this over the weekend, so he *should* have a spare laying around!

My switch is bypassed but I will check all the connections and see that they are still connected.

On a sidenote...I looked at your profile and saw that you are software developer. What kinda stuff do you work one? I do software also. I am at a simulation company doing 3-d software programming here in orlando.

Well, right now I'm a contract developer (equivilant to Developer I) at QS/1 Data Systems. I just do basic Windows and data flow apps using VB6 and IBM Series 1 assembler. I work in the governmental dept. No, its nothing secretive or anything, its just stuff for local (towns and counties) government, not state or fed.

What company do you work for? Do you mean you do like game programming, or do you work with the apps that you use for animation ( like 3ds max, etc)? Reason I ask is I've been wanting to get into 3d game programming, but I really want to get my current school bill paid down a bit before I go back. I have been getting some books that show you how to use everything from directX to C/C++ to VB6 in 3d game programming. I've been busy lately. I was really busy while I was still in school, now that I'm out I'm really trying to get my RX-7 done ASAP. Learning some new languages and going through those books I bought are next on my to-do-now-that-I'm-out-of-school-and-actually-have-time-on-my-hands list. The RX-7 is just first on that list right now.

Well I work for Cubic Simulations. Yeah I went to school for game programming but they put me in as the art b*tch...so anything that has to do with 3-d models or anything graphics related usually goes through me(but I am still trying to get them to understand I am NOT AN ARTIST!!!) So in essense i am trained in 3-d game programming but usually am fixing kinks in our obsolete art pipeline.

I think that if you are decent with c++ then you should be able to teach yourself the things you need to know to be able to do games. I went to Full Sail and I bet it my school bills are a bit more than yours (if you know who fullsail is you will know what I mean)

Well if you want any help with getting started let me know. I am always down to help. Also I am always online so hit me up on aim or something.

Sorry it took so long to respond, but I had to go to a meeting . . . you know how it is!

Gotta hate it when people think you need to be doing something you aren't too good at.

I know c++ pretty good, but I haven't actually used it in real world. So that might make things interesting, but I think I'll live. I am familiar with full sail. I almost went there myself. That's probably where I'll go if I ever decide to go back to school again. Your bills are probably more than mine, but I can't at this time imagine that ON TOP OF my current bills! YIKES

Yeah, do you have any books or websites you could recommend?

appreciate it!
