Hey guys, since the end of the year is coming up fast along with the holidays and getting together with other rotorheads gets more difficult, NC Rotaries is planning on having a huge meet on the 10th at 5pm at Southern States Mazda on Wake Forest Road in Raleigh. We're planning a raffle for items left over from when we hosted Mazda Days during GTLIVE at Virginia International Raceway and hope to be getting some game discounts from EB games along with other stuff. We're going to see if we can setup a console in the showroom for their big screen TV and play games!

Was wondering if were interest in joining the NC Rotaries site. Would give everyone more space than just a thread to hang out in (remember the old Saturdays in Raleigh one on here!!!) on here since we have our own forum. Could organize your local meets, people and stuff "more better". Would also give us, you and everyone else a chance to plan bigger meets between us, crash each others or whatever else we ca do as a statewide club. OK so now the ball is in our court to organize this next meet. Lets do something different and something to keep everyone together and entertained. I was thinking of having an actual schedule of events. I was thinking of things like doing a cruise around wilmington for an hour just for the fun of it and let others that might have a 7 know we are out here...also to keep boredom at a minimum. So for example...meeting begins at 2pm..wait for an hour to b.s and wait for stragglers etc. then at 3 go somewhere to eat where we can have a reserved table for us(me and lt1-rx7 were talking about chucky cheeses and making song requests to the mechanical mickeymouse band like metallica or something lol) like logans steakhouse or whatever we decide on, eat and b.s for 2 hours..at 530 we make a couple laps around wilmington and explore the space and get j-ville guys familiar with our area and even scope out future meet locations(and maybe a few backroads). Then heres where it gets really tricky and may even blow a few minds here..we could go bowling or play pool or go to an arcade of some sort depending on what the vote comes out to be for an hour or 2. Then we all take it to the local starbucks or port city java and get a cup of coffee and split from there. Im starting the ball here now....GO

Well the first one will be the hardest after that it will all get easier, But on the ride around town we can definatly scare us up some ricers and bring some 7's out of the wood works and get in on this meet up. I am looking forward to our first time in the wilmington area, so lets hope everything goes without to many problems.....

we could also go race go karts and play lazer tag at jungle rapids maybe thats just the little kid in me but it sounds fun! Seven owners, driving lawnmower powered go karts

......and last longer than a year........
now Im depressed. Well of course some people ....who I won;t mention.....*cough tray cough* will be driving bastards and will just laugh and say it reminds him of the good ol days when his 7 was rotary powered.
But anyways It would be good to do things that can be out of the ordinary and have everyone enjoying them selves.

I love how people make random comments about people dissappearing when EVERYONE knows thats impossible.
IIRC this is my FIRST post in this thread and won't be my last.
As far as an rx7 meet, my 10ae is in my garage with no motor in it, and I'm not too keen on bringing out my beater 4dr wagon civic to a car meet.

well lets consider cost effectiveness....Im all about go karting and laser tag but , honestly, $12 for about 15 mins of laser tag or 5 mins of go karting wont be a very good time filler. I would lean more towards bowling...its what, like $7 (i havent bowled in forever so I cant remember the prices) and it lasts about a half hour or more, plus its pretty funny to see failure. Lets try to make it as affordable as possible so some people dont get left out of activities. Remember you have people driving an hour, in a rotary mind you so gas mileage is not its strong point, then eating, then drivng for an hour more then doing the activities then driving back....I would hope the day wouldnt exceed $80.

hey guys, im comin over from the jacksonville thread. im erick, i had the bbq at my house. i am ALWAYS up for backroad driving, i think it would be awsome, but i know alot of forum members in jacksonville do not. so i think for the monthly meets we should keep all driving we do scenic/city stuff. we could take nice drives by beaches or stuff like that. we can plan backroad stuff in our spare time. and i know some people are planing to do to the drag strip in a group too. but when EVERYBODY is together, lets try to keep the real backroads out and have driving everybody can enjoy.

great, you found it..unless my schedule changes form its normality which it frequently does and I dont find out till the end of this month Ill be working the 15th...there is a probablility that I will be off but until I get my schedule I wont know. So the 8th is out. The other saturday I have off is the 22nd...but its pretty close to Christmas so a lot of people will be home or saving money or it. Does anyone wanna entertain the idea of waiting till january to have it?

OH! so YOU"RE Erick..lol....j/k but yeah, it wouldne be anything hardcore just maybe a little taste that may make some people re-think their ideals lol. So who wants to help me scout, document and map some good backroads for future runs? This way we'll have definate ideas and if we meet those 240 guys talk **** again you can ask them where they'd like to go and provide them with info on different backroads around here. PM me for setting something up organizing a backroad racing group.

p.s. everyone go to ncrotaries.com Theyll have an easy way for us to vote on things since the mod Turbo II said he'd create polls for us out on the side to better plan these meets but we need to go over there and post the different options to have or voting. We might even gather some guys from other parts of the state for some meets.

YOYOYO! Back in town till Thursday, then driving to Vegas for next week, and will be back after that, provided I havent been arrested! Might be free Wednesday night if ya wanna get up. Getting up with my friend to see what the deal is about my bumper1!
