^ Damn that's a hot VR in the background, the MB isn't too shabby
Here are the obligatory night shots, and also my newly done white-lit cluster. I tried to get it to match the gauges, but I didn't get the color temps correct. I'm gonna have to get some new leds that are 6k instead of 5k like I used.

Mark,
I remember the first time you took the car to the track that you had mentioned wheel hop. I suspect that your PPF may have already been on the way out at that time. Considering you drive it like you stole it, I'm guessing that may have exacerbated the issue. Get a brace!
Oh...and *****.

I finally got the rear end and re conditioned 4 link bolted up. I also force fed a 1.25" sway bar to the front.....still trying to figure out where to tie the adjustable rear sway bar links in? It's still on jack stands. I can't wait to get the fuel sys. done and get it on the ground. It looks like I need to add an undercoating to the list.

Back story:
Bought my 88 Rx7 last week Sunday from a lady in South Carolina who hadnt driven it in two years. Trailored it back to Charlotte (about 150 miles) and immediately got to work on it. Replaced the fuel pump and got it to fire up. Runs strong.
So today I replaced the clutch master cylinder, added fluids to the clutch and brakes, bled the brakes. Surprisingly it drives a whole lot better than I thought. It does shake alot and it doesnt make power past 3500 rpm. I was told thats because the 5th and 6th ports arent opening. My buddy will be looking at that next weekend
Also I have a parts car on its way. According to what Im told all body panels are perfect so Ill be using it mainly for that. Probably also going to take some of the shocks/struts and interior pieces out to put on mine.
Its a slow process but my car is coming along nicely. In one week, I went from a car that didnt run and sat for two years, to a car that drives!

The shaking may be a worn out driveshaft (cheap used) and no power past 3500 could very well be the ports not opening. Good luck and let us know what you find!

Hmm...on a 89-91 this would most likely be limp mode due to a failed MOP and bad ECU. Could still be a bad ECU.

MOP = Metering Oil Pump commonly (and incorrectly) called the OMP. 1986-1988 had a mechanical version that was near indestructible and very reliable. 1989-1991 had an electronic version that would die and take out your ECU at the same time leading to what is commonly referred to as "limp mode". Search for that term in the 2nd gen section...plenty to read! =)

Well it was yesterday but I fixed the head lights from the sleepy eye conversion...to working like god intended version. replaced front fenders and the front and rear bumpers. Also the trunk latch too.
