MazdaDriverS.com VIR Grand East 4.2 mile Track event

High-Speed Drivers’ Education – June 16-17, 2007

With less than 24 spots remaining, the Grand East at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) provides a chance to drive one of the longest road courses in North America.

The hard to come by Grand East at VIR is a technically challenging racetrack, featuring 4.2 miles in length, an incredible 34+ turns with multiple elevation changes in excess of over 500’ in but just one lap.

The Grand East course is literally a roller coaster track with elements of two courses combined, a tight configuration of the Patriot Course and the wide open Full course combined into one. High speed uphill climbing esses, blind drops, cascading rollercoaster spiral downhills, over 34 turns, and many undulations that take years to master.

VIR has consistently been voted to one of the top six road courses in America. A world class race facility to drive.

Oh you're taunting me so bad with this!!!! Was going to do the one in September but this one could be more fun!

 

damn, $425...

Even if I could afford it I probably couldn't afford the new set of brakes and tires I'd probably end up needing afterwards...

 

The Grand East is VIR's most expensive configuration, because you need to lease both the Full Course and the Patriot Course, plus all the associated costs of running two tracks at the same time, such as 24 corner workers. The September and October www.mazdadrivers.com events cost less.

4.2 miles and over 500' in elevation change in one lap is incredible, everyone should try it at least once in their lifetime as it is a rare opportunity to drive at speed.

Full course is fun but this would be... more better. Really is temping to change my plans.

 

You trade several hundred feet of the back straight, for an incredible 10+ turns, "blind" drops, roaring uphill esses on the North connector, plus stevie wonder.

You won't regret the Grand East.

 

Just watched the in car for that... wicked. Yeah let me see if I can get my ducks in a row and I'll switch to this one. I've done the full course but never this and after watching the vid...
