Using Nitrous In TN Is Now A Felony

If you are caught using nitrous oxide on public roads or even have the equipment armed, you can receive a felony charge. You can read about it here.

Bad news for anyone whose car is slow enough that they have to use nitrous on a public street. My state just sucks like that!

The bottle can't be hooked up though. Just paint it red and call it a fire extinguisher!

This was the BILL, not the LAW, sent to the house and senate for voting, asking for nitrous to be illegal to be hooked up, it says its and "offense", not a "felony". It ASKS for there to be a class D felony when "bodily harm is caused to someone when using a vehicle equipped with nitrous", it does not ASK for there it to be a felony to HAVE nitrous hooked up in a car.
http://www.legislature.state.tn.us/b...ILL/HB2671.pdf

Amendment 2 shows section 5, the section about nitrous, to be deleted and for section 6 to become section 5.
http://www.legislature.state.tn.us/b...end/HA1094.pdf

if you look carefully at the first link then click on the amendments 1 and 2, the final "Public Chapter" signed by Bredeson says nothing about nitrous.
http://www.legislature.state.tn.us/b...ter/PC0971.pdf

basically, it means that no change has occured regarding nitrous... its not illegal to have it hooked up, even the felony charge when used to cause bodily harn didn't make it.

if i'm wrong then i'm wrong, but thats what I picked up...

At least they didn't make it a felony to marry your own sister - half the state would be locked up!
