Upstate SC-Need help

OK, so my boyfriend & I bought a non running '90 GXL about 2 years ago. It's still not running-lol. My boyfriend is a novice when it comes to rotary(he is a mechanic, though), but he believes that there's a ground missing to the injectors-he actually was able to get the car running for a few seconds. Now, we would love to keep this car-it's in pretty good shape & with a little more TLC, it would be really nice (only has 104,000 miles)-problem is, we're short on money right now-but not desperate(we haven't gotten there yet). In the condition it's in, people are offering $120-$400-now I know for a fact I'd get over $1000 if we parted it out-but I would hate to part out a car that could be fixed(we have the title). So basically, I don't know what to do. I know if the car was running & we sent it to maaco for a paint job, we'd be looking at about a $3000 car(or possibly more). What should we do-part it out, sell it cheap, or just keep trying to fix it. One thing I'm worried about, is if my boyfriend is able to get it started, he'll probably want to keep it-which I guess wouldn't be a bad thing-lol. I dunno-what do you think. BTW, the car is in Anderson, SC. Thanks

i saw your ad on ebay. i personally wouldn't pay much more than they're offering for it in the shape the pictures show it to be in. it sounds like it might be flooded, theres a couple ways you could fix that. you might try pull starting it or removing the spark plugs and the EGI fuses and crank it for a while.you'll definitely need to change the plugs and oil after that. probably want to check the compression while you've got the plugs out. check out the faq in the 2nd gen section to for some other things to try.

dont part it out, especially if it has low miles and is complete. Its probably a cheap fix... If you dont feel like fixing it, you can at least sell it for how much you bought it and not take a loss
