Thinking of moving to Nashville...hows the scene?

Well I am considering a total random move to Nashville. I'm in the mood to try living somewhere different and I hear nothing but good things, so I am debating it. I'm just curious how the rotary scene, or really the import scene in general is out there. Also, any advice about the area in general would be great. Thanks in advance!

If you have choices as to where you are moving and want to be in the Southeast U.S., I would say:
Atlanta & Savannah, GA
Charlotte & Raleigh, NC
Columbia, SC
Birmingham & Huntsville, AL
Eastern Tennesse
Tampa, Orlando & Gainesville, FL

You should have already seen the different aread that are active in this SE section of the forum.

There are some quick imports in the Nashville area. I know of a few fast supras, a fast 350z and some other quick cars. the import scene is slowly catching on. middle Tennessee in general is mostly domestics. I have a fd and I should be up in running within the next few weeks. I live just south of Nashville.

im originally from murfreesboro tn and to really get an idea of the scene around that area you may have to go to the bridge aka titan stadium parking lot. Theres a fast Black 06 STi , a fast TT350z, one supra that I know of, a couple cobras, and the typical hondas/240's but really I havent seen very many rx7's out there. Its pretty ricey for the most part.

Thanks for the advice guys. Ive never been to the area...in fact nowhere even close to it. I just feel like trying something different but as I'm sure you can imagine, its a little intimidating moving somewhere you have never been to. The car thing is only one part of it, but it would be nice to know its there.

How is life around there?

And thanks ROTORX7Holly, I will take a look at those cities as well. I'm pretty wide open as to where I can go.

get ready because the 350z you speak of is getting ready to go for around 850 wheel and in the near future.. within the next month a 8 sec supra and a 9 second supra should be on the streets of nashville. as far as the rx7's youre right. I havent seen very many nice ones. I have seen a sb FC and heard about a ls FD. All and all the scene is on the up and up. it is very ricey though. most of the time it is a domestic V.S. import thing.... and the occasional bike for the 350z.

As far as Nashville being a nice city, I have lived just south of it pretty much my whole life and cant really imagine myself anywhere else. I have traveled a lot and to me nothing else really compares to it. Its a smaller town compared to say Chicago Atlanta but the night life is still there. If you love music then Nashville is a great place as well.

whats funny is if its the same 350z he blew his motor turning up the boost to race the STi I built...hes a cool guy though. What about the 900hp MR2? And that LS FD...was it a Korean guy?..I know him, he got rearended at a stop light and is parting it out.

and now that I think about it I do remember seeing a silver FD with 3 spoke rims around murfreesboro and heard things about him.

As far as life there...I grew up in Chicago, Aneheim, Murfreesboro and I now live in NC..out of all those places I like Murfreesboro the best. Im a city guy and that area is a great compromise between the country and the city. You can choose to be in either or have a little of both.

We come out we just dont bring the cars because they are usually getting worked on. I know mine has been down for over a year and a half. its hard finding the time to work on it.

Nashville has a pretty decent scene. Chadwick has a really nice 93 BB FD that he AutoX's in SM2. David Garfinkle... the man, the myth, the legend. He has one of the cleanest FD's on the road. Chad, Fire85Gslse, has a really nice 93 SSM FD with around 38k on the chasis and a bunch of FC's and FB's. There are a few others around that have FD's, a bunch of FC guys, and various other rotorheads. I'm currently deployed in Afghanistan, so I haven't been around since March, but Chad normally schedules get togethers at least once a month. Garfinkle has his Gar-b-que every July.

W94rx7TT, how long have you had your car? From the looks of your signature it looks like it'll be pretty fast. I'd like to check out your 500r one of these days. If you have it up and running by October, you should hit up the Speed for Sale event.

I have had my car for about 3 and a half years. I am hoping that it will make decent power. July 5th I am suppose to be getting it tuned by Steve Kan in Birmingham AL., but we will see. I still have a few things that need to be done before I go. Just hit me it when you get back and you can check it out. I have heard nothing but good things about the turbo system. the car should be pretty loud too. I am not worried about passing emissions either because they dont check them where I go to school
