Stolen!!!
What a way to get back on the boards! Stepped out of the house this morning and the 7 was gone!!!!
Fellas, if anybody in the Charleston area sees a dark grey '83 GSL in serious need of a paint job, give me a call at 494-7525.
Imagine Rusty's car with a shot paint job.
Outside of the paint job the body is in pretty good shape. The sunroof has some rust spots. Also the front license plate bracket is rusted. Also the wiper blade arms are rusted. Around the windshield the paint is pretty well worn so it looks more like my chrome is coming off.
The car is all original, even the pitted 13" alloy wheels.

Good news, it's been found.
It was found at the bottom of a slight hill descending from my driveway.
Apparently whoever tried to steal it couldn't work the manual choke.
The handbrake was pulled to a full upright position, which I never do, and the driver's side door was unlocked but it was all right other than a slight rub on the rear bumper where it touched a neighbor's fence.
I'm just glad I still have it.

I have a suggestion that a friend did with his RX7 so it doesnt happen again... he opened a hole on the ground and put a large eye bolt like the ones you see holding light poles in place... he poured concrete and locks his car via a chain to the chassis... it works...
I am lucky I suppose because my car is always garaged,,, but if it wasnt I would probably do the same as my friend did.

Thanx for the concern
After further inspection of the car, nothing was missing and the only thing wrong is my hand brake cable is stretched out pretty good. I think that a couple of kids might have been trying there hand at being stupid.
I think what happened is that my passenger side door was unlocked and that is how they got in. I don't usually leave the car in gear unless parked on a hill. Just keep the parking brake up. Well the car was in reverse (which I never put it in), the steering wheel was pulled to the right and locked over (my driveway is straight) and the brake was pulled completely up. I think that they had to do that to stop the car. I've noticed that sometimes the brakes are hard to push down when the car is running. So I figure that they tried to turn the wheel but it only turned a couple of degrees and got stuck. Now they are on a collision course for someones privacy fence (which would make a little noise), they brakes weren't doing enough to stop the car and they yanked on the hand brake to finally bring it to a stop. At least that kept it from rolling back into the road. It rolled UP into someones side yard and just touched there fence. At least they left the brake on so it wouldn't roll back into the street.
The garage will have room for the car before the end of the weekend. I think that I'll park the other car directly behind it until then.
Thanks for the concern fellas.
