Steve Kan Tuning on June 30th at Petit Racing in WPB

I've been PMing Steve and have finally got a date available. June 30th and possible July 1st if we get enough interest.

We need 5 people to commit before he'll come down here. As of now there are two options Pettit Racing in West Palm Beach or Cartek tuning in Davie. But if someone has another option PM me the info.

This info is from Gotham Racing's vendor section:

New 2007 tuning price structure
In order to make it fair for everyone in the tuning session, below is the new tuning price structure.

$350 - Stock turbo up to 12psi of boost (pump gas only) 1 map
$400 - aftermarket turbo up to 16psi of boost (pump gas only) 1 map
$450 - aftermarket turbo from 16psi - 25psi of boost (race gas and/or auxiliary injection only) 1 map
$600 - aftermarket turbo up to 25psi of boost (pump gas and race gas tune) 2 maps

By doing so, it'll allow me to gauge my time allocation to the consumer instead of rushing on those that needed more attention in the map.

Here is the estimated time frame allocated for each type of tuning.

stock turbo - 45 mins - 1.5 hrs
aftermarket turbo (pump gas) 1hr - 2.5 hrs
aftermarket turbo (race gas and/or auxiliary injection) 2 - 4hrs
aftermarket turbo (2 maps) 3-6 hrs

FYI Steves cost does not include the time on the Dyno. That would be extra. Estimate around $700 for the day which we would divide up based on time spent on the dyno.

Once we have 5 committed people I will PM Steve and let him know where we would like to have our tune done.

Questions about what ECU's he can tune are listed here. http://www.rotaryx.com/stevekan/info.html

Click on the other links on that page if you need more info.

As far as everyone getting done, once we have "The Five" I'll pm him the list and we'll see about time allotment. (Some dyno facilities won't stay past their "closing" times.)

Let's keep the thread on topic. Only list yourself if you are definitely going to do this. Also list the tune you'll be getting beside your name.

i vote for cartek. Steffan was willing to leave the place open as long as required or should i say as long as damian was willing to stay (which was all night), thanks damian.

we ran into the same problem at a tuning session at Pettit and i can assure you we did not have the same outcome. closing time is closing time at pettit. The only pro of having it at pettit is that he most likely has a part if you break down on the dyno. The only negative of him having your part is that you may have to take out a second mortgage on your house in order to buy it.

I agree with using Cartek. They're very easy to get to, the turnpike and 595 put you a few minutes from their shop.

Just so everyone knows, this date is not guaranteed. We must have five people with deposits sent to Steve in order to lock in this date. The sooner we do this the better.

This date should give everyone a chance to get their cars up to spec so Steve can tune your car to the best of his ability.

efranklin - I know a guy with an enclosed transport who is use to making the trip to Orlando/ Tampa. I'll check with him about cost to pick up and drop off your vehicle here in Broward county. After the tune you could drive home. He can transport two vehicles in case you think you might have someone else interested in coming down here.

I should have my 7 ready by 2morrow but I had it tuned 3 months ago but I have race ported it since then , I should only need a little tweaking to have it tuned. would I still have to pay $400 for the tune? I would like to see what kind of numbers he pulls out for me. on my t60-1.

Allright we only need one more to get this event going. Those with the aftermarket turbo listed should also list the psi you'll be getting tuned at as well as whether you'll be using pump or race gas. This will help Steve judge his time.

If you guys are choosing dynos by location so you don't have to drive as far...well that is just dumb. Please read what has been posted about each place.

I will PM Steve and see what he thinks. Obviously we want him to be most comfortable with the dyno and equipment he's using.

I'd hate for anyone not to get tuned due to time constraints.

Like Steve said, Cam is all for it, and I have never had a problem staying late there, even when it was just me he was waiting for or working with.

I realize I did not link the waiver on Steves website so here it is.

http://www.rotaryx.com/stevekan/Wavi...0Liability.doc

Thanks to Steve for confirming with Cam about staying, and Cams dyno cost are really fair. (Thanks Cam.) With that I think Pettit would be the best choice.

I sent PM's to everyone on the list about sending in deposits.

BLK FC3S you'll need to PM Steve (Pluto) and ask him about your tuning cost.
